You should see the problems they are having bringing in the Lotus Elise and even that damn Panoz car only now got in (Not that it matters) and a few others i've heard about through colleagues. The Pagani .....in Canada.....HAH, doubt it. There are only like 2 in the US which means Canada wont see one for years to come. Hopefully im wrong. Sometimes I wish Canada were more exciting *SIgh*
wait until i make my millions doing what ever. Then i will own the first or second, or third Zonda in Canada. Anyways, I cant figure out what kind of Ferrari it was. It was long and silver..grr. Sounded like one of those kawasaki sport bike dealies........hmm
Yeah, it's a shame Canada isn't more exciting. I would love to see cars like the Zonda or others of this calibre being offered in Canada. What other cars are you referring to, or is that a closely guarded secret?
Someone with more knowledge on this subject could correct or amplify my response. From what I understand, unless the car in question has already been approved for sale in the Canadian market by Transport Canada, cars cannot be imported into Canada unless they are 15 years old, or greater, due to the Competition Act; UNLESS the car is brought in as a show/collector vehicle, and is not to be driven on public roads; OR the purchaser applies to Transport Canada and subjects the car to the various tests, including emissions, 5MPH bumper, child tethering device/restraint bolts, motorized seatbelt or not, daytime running lights, and the worst one - crash testing on Canadian soil. I think they require a minimum of 3 for crashing. I doubt anyone would want to purchase 4 ultraexotics and crash 3 of them just to bring the final one into the country. I'm guessing this means we won't be seeing too many Saleen S7s, Koenigsegg CCRs, and Pagani Zondas in the near future.
Ill have to become iminster of transport and change the rule then resign. Anyways, atleast "1 G racing" is able to bring in the NOBEL GTO. its one kickass car
Allright Mr. Future Minister of Transport....add the Ariel Atom, Mitsubishi Evo FQ-400, Lotus 340R, Noble M14 and any TVR to your list. Also it would be appreciated if you would eliminate any of this limited mileage Show Car baloney....these cars are meant to be driven, so let them be driven!
The Saleens are apparently here. Joe from Auto Bugatti Montreal brings them in. He showed me an up-close of one at last year's auto show here in Toronto. Pretty impressive. But too much money.....give me an F40 anyday. And Andrew, no secrets. You know I'd tell yah buddy . Not sure what else is on the table. I just know the Elise is closer to being here, the Panoz is here (Once again, who cares lol) FWIW the 1st Canadian delivered Panoz Esperante is now in Winnipeg by the way. Talks of Alfa-Romeo too........but I would not even try to figure them out just yet. I predict it will take quite a while. TVR is already kinda here. But thats another mystery. God i'd love to see a Chiamera or a Cerbera here (Did I even spell them right?). Cheers, Vasco.R
Hiya, sir. You are totally correct. I forgot all about Montreal connect. I cancelled my scrip to Dupont Registry a few months back and recall reading about the Saleens coming in via Bugatti.
Dino Martini, You should definitely stop by ZR when you get the chance (if you haven't already). I am a teen, and am stereotyped like every other teen out there. But hey, thats the way it is. But the folks at ZR are very nice. It seems everytime I go in there Mr. Zahir Rana is the one who is working the floor talking to everyone who comes in. When I learned that he was the owner I thought for sure he wouldn't give a young guy like me the time of day. However, I was very wrong, fortunately. Despite having other people in his showroom (who pulled up in a VERY nice Porsche, and were obviously there to talk business) Zahir still toured the showroom with me and chatted about the cars. I had a peak in the service shop (didn't dare set foot in without permission ) and the mechanic who was working on a silver 355 at the time stopped and chatted about the car, which had just arrived. Its always a nice experience, and I make a point to stop by there every few months to see some of the new toys. I have yet to see the Murci Roadster, and will have to stop by soon. The one thing I miss is the boutique. ZR was my number one source for hard-to-find models and Ferrari apparel, and now Im not sure where to go. Does anyone know of another place in Calgary or surrounding area? Thanks, Warren
He's still got most of the inventory. You should call if you are looking for something specific. Or better yet, drop by and pick it out yourself.
Well, there was/is a TVR "office" here in Toronto while back. They were the TVR guys in town. But that was then and now I don't think there is much going on. So thats why I said that. Once again, it's ashame. TVR's are so hot looking, even the old ones.
Hey guys, I was just looking through my local newspaper (Hamilton Spectator) and I found this article about a Yellow Murcielago Roadster in Edmonton. I knew that it might be of intrest to some of you, so I scanned it for you! Here is the link http://supercarfreak.net/gallery/album600/Lambo_Murci_Article_Edmonton Enjoy! Lucas
Some pictures of vehicles Dr. H. and I drove, test drove, and drooled over this past weekend. Some are mine, some are his, some are Royalty's, some are Jag Calgary's, and most are Zahir's over at ZR Auto.
