YOU MEAN THE DELAWARE OCEAN..GO WATCH TV, IT ALMOST BEDTIME, I THINK AMERICAN IDOL IS ON ALL IN FUN PAT.................
Hey, cut out all this friendly banter! this is a flame thread gawddamit! 308s are old and slow! Lambos are for gold chain wearing posers! Porsches are well, um, NOT AS GOOD AS FERRARIS! West coast Rules! FWERD! Oh yeah, commies suck! couldn't forget that one.
Title changed? I am more curious as to why Rob or any other Mod even allowed this thread to continue. I was not around when this whole thing started but from reading some of this thread it seems like Art was just giving some advise on how to take advantage of a tax saving. Now because of different views fellow F-Chat members seem to be trying to rat him out to the IRS. Very bush league. As a successful attorney am sure Art pays more than his fair share of taxes and anyone in that position tries to minimize their tax burden. I know I do without any guilt. I already feel that I get screwed, I pay the max tax rate but cannot take things child credits and not allowed the education deduction for my step daughters college tuition. What's next here? Rat out someone who claims they did 140MPH? Or report those of us who admit we wont put on a front plate. Just feel this topic is an embarrassment to the whole F-Chat community
Sunny: please drop it. You know i'm not a staunch Art defender on most things political, but alluding to dropping a dime on him could constitute extortion which is itself a crime. I do think you made your point- and while my sympathies are with our oppressed brother-MM- railing at Art will do nothing at this point.
Bill, On a side note, does someone (in this case Sunny) have to receive something (other then personal satisfaction) for turning someone in to be considered extortion? I know the CHP actively has a policy that if any person in California sees a reoccurring out of state plate, that they are obligated to report them. They even provide a website link for this. http://www.chp.ca.gov/prog/cheaters.cgi I am not sure extortion applies in this case.
Also, I consider both Art and Sunny a friend. I am not taking sides. My last post was more informational.
Hey, if you get your rocks off by picking on an 18 year old kid when he's not even here to defend himself, then by all means, you go right ahead... But that's an awfully shiny glass house from which you're throwing stones... Sunny, none of those "facts" are real reasons... Darth, if the day should ever come when you can pose a real foot hold in an argument rather taking cheap, senseless shots at what you THINK someone is all about, let me know... Until then, keep taking your cheap shots - they really enhance your personality - you know, like Bill Cosby's thoughts on cocaine.
CARBON I LOVE YOUR ATTITUDE TODAY YOU CAN COME HERE AND ILL HIRE YOU AS MY A/R MANAGER TO COLLECT THE MONEY HAVE A CHEESEBERGER AND CHILL, MY BROTHER BRUCE
??? The only thing I know about Bill Cosby and cocaine is that it was the reason his son was murdered... So, um, are you actually trying to infer there is some sort of threat against me or my child out there or that I have some involvement with illegal drugs...? Bring it on...
i expected a comment like that from you... Obviously you've never seen his stand-up routine from years ago where someone offers him coke and he asks why people do it and is told it enhances your personality... So he says, "but what if you're an assh0le...?" i see this was a dead end.
Ok Mr Sweet tooth... i see that you are now trying to make your Transmission complete. You're right..in that regard, I'm a dead end! ...and no, I'm not a big Cosby fan.
Matt: Leaving aside whether Sunny really intended to threaten Art with turning him into the authorities, the policy that you referred to- reporting offenders- cannot, in my estimation, be used as basis to justify threatening to report someone. In other words, one complies with the policy by reporting the malfeasor, not by telling the malfeasor that he may be subject to being reported. I grant you, extortion usually involves getting something in exchange for not carrying through on the threat, but i suspect that the consideration can be intangible- ie, don't **** with my boy on the Internet anymore or i'll get you pinned for tax evasion. As i understand it, some states define it in terms of making a threat of informing criminal authorities to receive money or property; other states may regard the threat alone as sufficient, or regard the threat as sufficient where the exchange is a change in behavior. I'm not suggesting that was Sonny's intent, but I think it's pointless to get embroiled with someone on this level- it will only call for retaliation, and then it just gets stupid:- everybody gets hurt. (And, fwiw, i am not taking sides either- just trying to defuse what I think is an unfortunate escalation of this dispute).
