Maaaaaaaaaan I love my car, today was a fantastic day sunny and dry perfect for a cars and coffee three of us (white Coutach, black Diablo, and yours truly) hit the town we started at one coffee shop then proceeded for a great burn to our Legislative Building where we parked for about an hour for questions, answers and photos we stirred up quite a crowd it was awesome...:D

Of course like a dumb a$$ I forgot to bring my camera as I was too excited about the drive but at least Zapper(Diablo) brought his..:)

Today I took her in for my Provincial inspection and she was the talk of the shop..

They had to place blocks underneath the tires in order to fit there lift, they were very careful and let me stay with the car the whole time.

I must of met 10 people that just wanted to talk about the car and one fellow and I talked for almost 2 hours, it sure made the time fly by.

Just 3 things they found with the car that I have to fix

1-my driver side window wont go down I'm sure I know what the problem is, it goes up but not down I can hear the relay clicking, the only thing that I have not checked is the connection on the underside of the wheel well, I will get to that tomorow.

2-my window washer does not work, the motor runs and sprays out somewhere??? there was a big puddle of washer fluid underneath the car

3-there was something disconnected from the right rear hub, he figures it was one of the parking brake cables I think it is something else like a speed sensor but I would like your input on this cable.

They were suppose to check for alignment but they would of have to repeat the whole lifting process so they asked if it drove straight and I said "like an arrow" and they said that was good enough for them... you gotta love that...:D

Here are some pics take notice of the big puddle underneath the car, it was quite embarrassing when it happened I was showing the car to one of our local law enforcement a big wig no less and the car started to leak..

The first pic is of the mystery cable I have my suspicions but hopefully you can shed some light on the subject.

Man, if there is a cable in there, it has to be the park brake cable I reckon. :):)
It looks to be in that area. Did they check the operation of that park brake while the car was there? :):)

The speedo sensor is on the other side. It is electrical wiring that goes in the side of the gearbox. :):)

Easy to check this cable. Jack up the RHR wheel off the ground slightly and pull on the park brake. If the wheel does not lock up, then you can safely assume that the cable is not connected. :):)

    PAP,

Would the park brake cable be on the opposite side on your car since it's Right Hand Drive?

There is a cable that runs to both wheels. :):)

One either side of the car. A single cable runs from the park brake handle, then it splits off into two cables. One into each wheel. :):)

Well, you (I) learn something new everyday...!

When you adjust the handbrake, I assume it adjusts both cables at the same time?

    Thanks Pap,

You actually have to adjust each cable individually in the wheel hub. The wheel needs to be removed and a small screwdriver used. :):)

There is adjustment on the park brake handle cable, but you only normally adjust that slightly over the years as the cable stretches. ALWAYS adjust the park brake at the wheels. It is the proper way to do it. I learnt that VERY quickly when I started my apprenticeship. ;);)
