We liked to giggle a little bit at the sellers/customers who would claim their car has never seen any rain, snow, or weather. They never wanted to acknowledge how much the cars sit outside at the factory, port, or dealerships.

I've taken delivery of new Ferraris that looked worse than LeMans finishers. The detailers are the real heroes.

    Off topic, sorry.

Big difference between being driven in rain/snow and just sitting getting rained or snowed upon. Road salt and sand doesn't fall from the sky.

Does anyone know what those red covers are on the end of the suspension? Im looking for suspension that has a lift or a soft mode for my 348 and this 355 looks like its got something like that.

IF you have a shop lift you don or need to remove the rear bumper or muffler because you can lift the car high enough that it will clear the bottom. However, IF you are using th two floor jack method you need to remove the muffler and then inept so that you can rotate the subframe sideways and push it out the the rear. Floorjack generally have a maximum lift height of "18 inches, where as a shop lift can lift a car over 5' feet in the air. So that is why you will see some removing the muffler and rear bumper.

Interesting Ernie. All of the pics I've seen always have the bumper off even in shops with lifts.

I'm planning on doing mine soon with a 4 post lift and just taking notes.

Are we talking 355 or just 348?

Heat shield in the rear curves way under the muffler and bolts to the rear subframe under the rear bumper.

I don't see how you could drop the 355 assembly straight down unless you unbolted the muffler first. (which is probably more work than removing the bumper at that point).

The 348 engine can come down with the bumper in place.
The 355 engine cannot come down with the bumper in place. Needs to be removed.

Mitchell beat me too it. But I was talking about the 348.

The muffler on the 348 is attached to the frame of the car. Disconnect the cats from the muffler and it stays in place.

I know removing bumper and exhaust is proper, but the idea of leaving on the 348 sure is handy and convenient [emoji41]

I would remove the rear bumper just out of fear of scratching it. Great oppotunity to clean the inside as well.

How much would this 7k mi white GTB with this level execution be worth today in the U.S market?? Are you kidding me? Definitely an outlier for sure. I’d take this car over Entropy’s car any day of the week and I don’t even like 5.2’s.

I need to do that with my 8300 mile car.... I guess you start one corner at a time. Start removing, cleaning and reinstalling. I got time....
