Sorry guys, been away playing golf. Missed much? :)
In which case I'm a tad disappointed in you all; would have thought the Oz fans would have put up more of a fight. Did you see how that fantastic Broad chap took them apart? New world record by all accounts. Not watched it yet but have got it set to record the highlights. ........ Not sure if it's still called 'highlights' when they have to show the whole innings because a wicket falls every other ball but you get what I mean.
This is a pretty cool quote from Broad after the match: "My previous best-ever bowling was 7-12 against Kimbolton School under-15s so it was nice to get that against Australia I must admit," Just something to reflect on. Night all
I suppose they'll give those useless pommy cricketers knighthoods now Broad is still an arsehole, I watched it live, it didn't take long and it let me get to bed early
Ok...just heard what happened on the radio. Should we be combining this thread with the 'aussie joke thread'?
Definitely. But, looking on the bright side, it ain't going to be 5-0. At least we've never had to endure that humiliation, right Pete?
And England's 1 millionth bowled ball is................................................................ an AUSSIE 4 runs...scored by Warner YES!!!!!
Now this is bloody hilarious. England are so far in front it's not funny, yet they're carrying on like a bunch of little girls. That missed the edge by so far even the Indians wouldn't appeal. Pathetic.
Why why why why do these idiots keep playing at balls that are missing the stumps by several feet? Why? Even my local D Grade team - half of whom are at least 95 years old - know that in this situation you don't waft the bat at anything that isn't crashing into the stumps. You let the ****ing thing go, and even if you are 0 runs off 150 balls that is a win in the circumstances. God I hate what 20/20 (aka kiddies / idiots cricket) has done to the game, mainly because it has utterly ruined the beauty and maturity of Test Cricket (ie. Mans cricket).
The words of a man who's team is about to lose the Ashes Past matters not, right now is all that counts. Re why are they flicking the bat at anything they can reach, I'm not convinced they want to draw this out. Fancy another bet on the series btw?
Dave Hughes ‏@DHughesy 6h6 hours ago Have the Aussie batsmen forgotten you don't have to play at balls two foot outside off stump? #fools #Ashes2015
Looks like, rather than playing for a highly unlikely draw, they're playing for utterly unrealistic win. Don't know whether to applaud the fighting spirit or simply laugh.
Your batsmen, I'm agreeing with Steve - "even if you ar 0 runs off 150 balls that is a win in the circumstances" Chasing the runs at this point is barking mad. At the start of the innings it wasn't but it is now. You might he able to sit at the crease and block everything on the stumps for the next couple of days. Leave what you don't need to play, block anything on the stumps, and try to sit it out, play for the draw. Really unlikely it'll work but far more likely than your tail end scoring 90 more runs then setting a target that Root couldn't chase down on his own. As soon as they started going for lose balls, started trying to score, it was over. Not a big cricket fan but don't need to be to see that - even my cat would be playing a better tactical game than your lot are.
You know, the ones representing your country. The ones who got bowled out for 60 runs. The ones who are losing........ I don't know how to put it in simple terms you can understand, mate. The Australian batsmen.
