Had an Estrella Damm Inedit. Its a Spanish lager, semi-rare in the states.
The regular Estrella Damm is very average lager, basically its Stella.

But the Inedit is a wonderful beer. This was designed by Ferran Adria and his staff at El Bulli. Lots of great floral notes, nice finish with no aftertaste. Recommended served chilled in a wine glass, pours a light gold with a slightly off white head.

On the tag it is recommended to pair foods that are vinegary, fatty fishes or things like asparagus. I ate some asparagus with a lemon-garlic aioli and goat cheese and spinach stuffed chorizo and beef meatballs with a hearty tomato-saffron sauce. The beer was a great compliment to the asparagus and aioli, cut right through the garlic aftertaste, and then was a wonderful lightness to the heavyness of the meatballs. Has great citrus notes and very light mouth feel. Very subtle spicing of coriander and liquorice. Great summery, light flavors.

Perfect beer to pair with food, definitely recommended!

    Hofbräu München

I have never been a beer drinker. I have never liked the taste, I don't care for the flavor, if you call it that. I should say now, I do not like American beer. Recently got turned onto Hofbräu München. I'm not a beer guy, but I do like this! Any input as to quality rate?

This thread is long. Unfortunately I gave up after a few pages and just decided to post.

I drink Heineken as my beer of choice.

I enjoy going to the local breweries though and sampling what they have. Local to me we have Iron Hill Brewery as well as Triumph Brewery. It's always a great atmosphere with good beers and food at these places.

    I just finished a 6-pack of it.

I like it, but I actually think it's one of the worst Octoberfest's around.

I'm not a fan of Hofbrau, and agree there are better Oktoberfest beers.

A couple of days ago I easily infiltrated a hippy town called Manitou Springs (my beard had gotten out of hand) and enjoyed a very nice Hoptober from the New Belgium Brewing Company.

Yesterday I could not find New Belgium stuff at the Specs I was in. Which is odd because I'm in there at least once a week.

Got Left Hand Brewing Co. Polestar Pilsner.

    Very good!

Every sunday I show up at my favorite bar here in Houston and always get heckled about drinking High Life and Lone Star lol

I get the " I dont understand how you drive a ferrari and like the cheapest beer"

Apparently that makes me "down to earth" lol

okay so that Belgian tripel was 9.5% abv. careful with those.

next up is Two Brothers Hopjuice. Beautiful amber color, nice cream colored head.
huuuuuuuuuuugggggeeee hops halfway through the flavors. but never uncomfortably hoppy.

Left Hand Imperial Stout. A million tastes in one glass. Not a very heavy beer for the wallop; darkest shade of red imaginable with a beautiful tan, foamy head

Rahr Ugly Pug. Brewed locally in Fort Worth, Texas. I bought my first six pack about a month ago. I do not drink very much beer or anything else to speak of but I like one every once in a while. This is a dark beer but actually lighter tasting than the darkness would lead to believe. Not a strong taste. Only slightly earthy in taste with a slight aftertaste of nutiness but it goes down very smoothly. If you want a light beer or ale you might try their blonde ale. Definitely light in appearance and smooth in taste. And Rahr throws a pretty good party each Saturday at their brewerey..........

Been watching my weight lately so haven't drank much but yesterday I splurged with help from my Mom, who brought the first two below to our Thanksgiving gathering. She isn't a beer connoisseur, but she picks up different brews for me based on packaging, i.e. judges a beer by its label. :D

    Pete's Wicked Ale - 4
    Flying Dog's Snake Dog IPA - 2
    Sam Adams Light - 6
    MGD 64 (my diet beer) - 4

Total of 16 and no hangover...must be good beer! :D

    Cheers!

For fun, I've done that as well with mostly good results e.g. Leinenkugel's Amber Classic from the local Publix.

Here in the Pacific NW, they love their micro-brews.

Terminator is a pretty great beer. Coffee, chocolate, great aftertaste. Really great food beer.
