Picking up some "Heady Topper" by The Alchemist sometime this week.
I enjoy a stout and generally I'll have Guiness. There are a few good Irish pubs in NYC and Rockland County that have it on tap. I've tried a few other darks but have not yet found another that I like. Some are kind of chocolaty. Some are just a dark-colored but light-tasting beers. I've heard of Three Floyds Dark Lord but I've never come across it. Does anybody know it or can recommend another dark beer?
Read my previous post (#621): it's a dark beer, the taste is reminiscent of stout, but sweeter (caramel-ish). 10% alcohol though, so be careful if you try it
This is something I have discovered today: Deus. Something in between beer and champagne, truely amazing! http://www.bestbelgianspecialbeers.be/main_eng.html
'La Trappe Quadruple'. Sounds good. I'll try to find it around my way. I will certainly give it a go. Should be easy to find.
Good deal man. We're entering a couple brews in a local german festival in May. Last year we placed third.
Best beer I've had in a while. My buddy lives up there and brings me a few 4-packs every month or so. Also had some Lawson's, very good but tough to find.
We're not that serious yet, we have a name, but we're not serious and haven't copyrighted it yet. The fest we enter is in a small town. If you didn't, see my post further up the page.
I've never cared for Flying Dog beer. They're flavors have always fell flat for me. Sort of watered down.
Currently working my way through a few growlers of Boneyard RPM. If you haven't tried RPM or their Hop Venom you're missing some of the best IPA in the Northwest. Cheers
Tried this a few days ago. It tastes just like you think it will. My lips actually burned for an hour or two. I didn't finish it though. I took a sip and dumped it. I do think it could be used as an interesting marinade if you're looking for lots of heat. Image Unavailable, Please Login
For those among you who like Duvel: try to get your hands on the special edition called 'Tripel Hop'. As the name says, it has a third variety of hop added which results in an incredible aroma and +1 % alc. Great, great beer!
