    What are your thoughts on the best cognac, taking into account taste and price ? My favourite thusfar is Courvoisier (Australia $50 rrp) but I haven't been able to afford brands such as Louis XIII (A 1,799 rrp).

    Before participants answer the question, one must bear in mind... When it comes to drinking Cognac, there's 2 schools of thought.

    Drink it;
    1] straight out of bottle
    2] pour it in a glass

    As a side dish;
    IF [1] THEN menthol cigarettes
    IF [2] THEN cigars

    [This is, after all, Drink & Smoke]

    vegas1, if you could fill out the questionnaire, we will be able to provide proper answers.

    While Remy and Courvoisier have set the "standard" in the Napolean, VSOP and VS catagories, I have found that Landy XO is a great bargain in the XO catagory. Most XO's in TX are ~$125+ and I can find the Landy at Spec's here in Houston for $65 a bottle. Don't know if anyone else has tried this, but it is definately a worthy "daily" unlike the high end Louis and others pictured : )

    I missed an opportunity to try Louis, didn't make it in time. My Uncles and brother polished off the bottle by the time I got there. They would have eaten the bottle if they didn't have a big dinner. I have taken a liking to Armanac, when it is available.

    Marcel Ragnaud is my favorite cognac producer. Monsieur Ragnaud makes many grades to fit every budget. Hard to find but wow. 50 bucks for the V.S. all the way up to La Paradise which I have no idea what it costs ($1000+ ?)and have never seen it.
