I'd like your opinion on a list I've compiled, below, of what I think are the best "cars" Ferrari has ever made given the criteria which follows. I would especially like your opinion if you make, or made, your living maintaining and repairing Ferraris.

The criteria for exclusion: 1)the model had to be produced between 1960 and the present; 2) there are no competition (250 GT0, P4) or semi-competition cars (250 SWB, TdF, 275 GTB/C) on the list.

The criteria for inclusion: to make it to the list, the model had to have a combination of looks, performance (era appropriate), livability, drivability, servicability, reliability and longevity which made (or make) it not only a great Ferrari but a great car as well. The model had to have had a great design (either right off the bat or through evolution of prior models) and been assembled with enough care that a normal guy could enjoy the car for years with reasonable maintenance and repair costs. This is not necessarily a list of cars the average Tifosi might lust after nor necessarily the cars for which Ferrari is justifiably famous.

Also, this is NOT an empirical study and I have not polled a huge number of people to come up with this list. Rather, it is based on my own anecdotal experience of owning and driving Ferraris, talking with other owners, talking with mechanics and reading everything I could possibly get my hands about Ferraris.

Ok, without further delay, here's my list.

    1. 250 GTE
    2. 330 GT 2+2 Series II
    3. 275 GTB/4
    4. 330/365 GTC
    5. 365 GTB/4 Daytona
    6. 1984 or '85 308 GTB/S Quattrovalvole
    7. 328
    8. 550/575 Maranello
    9. 360

Ok, let me have your opinions....

    Thanks

Sorry. I meant to post this in the Discussion Forum and not here in Technical Q&A. Can the powers-that-be move, please?

    Thanks.

No Ferraris make the list based on all the critera. They are all unreliable, over priced, smelly, have poor ergonomics, drink gas like a boat and are totally impractical. It's amazing they sold any at all huh.

But many were beautiful and all are a blast to drive. I'm in my 512 Boxer phase at the moment, but I'd never defend it as being "best" at anything except inducing orgasms.
