....is one that protects you from eavesdropping and of course one that isn't short of the coolest & most up-to-date features!!! Does it really exist?
I would go with one from a european company as I think they may be a little better with the SIM Technology. I have had Siemens phones in the past and they let you keep all your names and numbers saved on your SIM and on the phone but view one or the other. With my Motorola phones if you have them saved on both you have to view both, a list of duplicate names. In order to use features like having and e-mail address, pic, special ring, voice dial or anything else special saved to a name you must have it saved to the phone not the sim. So to keep your numbers on the sim in case something happens to the phone you have to look at a list of two of everything.
I recently picked up a GSM phone for trips to Europe. Got a Motorola Razr V3. Does all sorts of things - more computer than phone. It's first adventure will be to the Autosport-International car show next weekend in Birmingham UK. Carol
Thanks, all nice phones....especially the Qtek. Do these phones alert you if someone's listening in to your conversations???!!!
The razrs are the ones I am not liking. From what I have learned it is the same with all motorolas. It is a great phone just this one particular thing is making me nuts. If you would like to change it to a different OEM color, silver, black or pink I found the entire housings at www.cnn.cn Someone on here was asking about them a while back. My black one was broken and insurance sent me a silver one so I went on a search for full housings. Thought I would pass it along.
Based on my knowledge of electronics, I doubt you are going to find any consumer phone that "lets you know" if someone is listening in. But, it would be extremely difficult for someone to listen into your phone call with a GSM phone - not impossible, not way more difficult than analog phones. You may find phones that are more resistant to eavesdropping but I doubt you will be able to tell if someone is trying to do such without some extremely large and expensive equipment.
I got a v3i, works on T-mobile.............unlocked wouldn't say the best but damn Expensive...... www.vertu.com but feature to feature the Sony Ericsson k750i is by far my favorite to use and functionality
Vertu phones are complete ****, and Razors are notoriously bad phones. Look at the UI, software revs, etc. Motorola has a LOT of work to be done. --Dan
Actually this is a Sony Ericsson - not Sony P990 http://www.clubsonyericsson.com/en/18/10/2005/mobile-review-on-the-p910-versus-p990-its-like-windows-311-and-windows-95/ http://www.infosyncworld.com/news/n/6217.html
Thanks for the response. I've come to the same conclusion upon my research......lots of $$$ and large equipment needed. The closest thing I found was a product from a company in CA where the phone costs 4k and it only protects (beeps) you if the other person has the same piece of equipment (another 4k). Phone is loaded with features too.
