Daniel Ricciardo the best in F1: Jeremy Clarkson He's good but he didn't impress that much before Red Bull and I am pretty sure he is taking advantage feom the same favouritism Vettel used to enjoy against M Webber The source finally makes the claim completely worthless So who is the best in business? I have a sneaky suspicion Ferrari will find out next year at their expenses and Mattiacci will be under a lot of scrutiny about this year's decisions
They say you only appreciate things when you loose them. And it's true! I love you Nando! Don't leave! We can work it out! And Clarkson hates Alonso, so he must be better than Ricci.
Daniel Ricciardo is for me the revelation of the year. Since he has been promoted to the Red Bull team, he has perfectly adapted to the new formula and has been a stalwart leader in the team, completely outclassing his multi-champion team mate.
The question is who's best. I just want to know what constitutes best. Fastest? Most points? Most championships? Most improved? Best looking? Nicest to children and small animals?
What's the matter JC ? has he told you, you can stick T-Gears reasonably priced car up yer khyber pass. Ricci is awesome I have no doubt, but lets get real here, it's early days, let's see how he fairs when the crap hits the fan.
Don't play the dumb, Vizzi. The question is "best in business" and is subjective. Obviously none of the above makes anyone best outright but the best combination does. Now please don't ask me which one is the best combination. Some are better at their job than others, so who is bestest at f1 drivering? Who gets most money would be a good market regulated metric for instance but surely does not take everything into consideration. Alonso probably wins that too, though. What Ricciardo has done mainly this year is demonstrating that Vettel might really not be as strong as some thought, but hasn't proven the best for that, not even close yet. Mercedes drivers also have done nothing else than proving eachother's weaknesses with no standout dominator. Alonso otoh has annihilated Raikkonen and done the same with many others for quite a few years now.
A drivers stock value can be lower or higher as a season progresses, Ricci's has shot up IMO, hence worth more ... how much who knows.
That seems to be Red Bull's fantastic marketing machine at work to me more than anything else. They knew Vettel was leaving long time, and Vettel himself might have driven slower than he could to get out of his contract. I think this time next year we'll be asking how Mattiacci could let the best in business go just to stamp his authority
There is no doubt that Ricciardo has been "The Man of the Year 2014". He is the only one who has taken the fight against superior Mercedes, even taking 3 wins, and he completely outclassed his 4 times world champion team mate in the process. Vettel has been outside his comfort zone and not adapted so well to new technology. He also was plagued by unrealiability. The other to have progressed remarkably is Botas.
Vizzi? We hardly know each other well enough for that Iggy. Ambiguous questions prompt interesting responses and inevitable thread diversions but I thought it interesting to see which attributes posters value most. If the question is best in the business I vote for Bernie.
