The "us" being Texas Ferrari, exotic, vintage, classic, and even grocery car getter owners.

David Mulvey (FarmerDave) is a fairly new member of our local Ferrari club, but a die hard Ferrari enthusiast since he parked a few dozen Ferraris at the Omni Mandalay when the 2001 FCA annual meet was here. He also happens to be a Farmers insurance agent that has a huge number of contacts that can take care of all your specific insurance needs from straight auto/home insurance to classic car. He'll analyze your situation and get you the coverage you need for the best price.

My insurance situation is pretty unique considering 3 street cars, the Challenge, an enclosed trailer, our new house, Curvacom LLC, guns, jewelry, and some excessive momentum history. David took all my information and worked out exactly what I needed for everything and has even done all the leg work. All I had to do was sign some papers last night and my insurance is now with Farmers at a HUGE savings! I do have quite a bit of insurance, but nothing to frown at saving a small car payment a month.

I highly recommend David and he is now an official FerrariChat.com Consultant to offer Insurance advice.

When I get some more time, I'll give FarmerDave a try... but so far, nobody has ever been able to match my State Farm rates. But I'm always game for a surprise!

Rob - thanks for giving me the chance to earn your business!

If I haven't already bored you with the details..., here's a link to the story that I posted about that FCA weekend on Tom Yang's website. I am even more smitten with the Cavallino Rampante today than I was 3 years ago when I typed up that story. http://www.tomyang.net/cars/story16.htm

I work for John Hosea Insurance, a Farmers Insurance agency in the Irving/Las Colinas area. John has been a Farmers agent for 16 years, and I started with him a year ago. Our office is on MacArthur Blvd, North of 183 and South of Hwy 114. Our Website is www.farmersinsctr.com.

I'm happy to answer any questions that Fchatters have. Just shoot me a PM or ring the office. I hope that I can help shed some light on the often confusing topic of insurance. And since this is FerrariChat, I will try to help people understand the nuances between the different types of policies that can be written for classic autos, exotic autos, daily drivers, and dedicated racecars. I have a working knowlege of all the major specialty auto insurance companies. And all the boring home, life, etc. stuff.

I've already gotten more out of Ferrarichat than I have put back in, so when Rob asked me to be a consultant, I was happy to be able to offer my help to the members of the forum. This is a great group of people, and I'm proud to be associated with Ferrarichat in a small way.

Hey Rob, now that I'm a consultant... does that come with a company car? I'll take a 612. Color isn't an issue, I'm not picky. :D

    Forza Ferrari!

Yeah, definately, I am licensed to write business anywhere in the state of Texas.

Of course, since I have to physically inspect the vehicle, I'll just have to come and hang out in Austin for the weekend. ;) I go down there about 4 times a year anyway, I've got a family down there.

David Mulvey (FarmerDave) is responsible for getting me insured on my Lamborghini Gallardo at a good price. I too would recommend David.

    Thanks David!

Hey Dave, can I move my existing Farmers coverage to you? The agent I have now 'inherited' me from my previous agent, and I'm not real thrilled w/ him.

Yeah, we can make that happen. Send me a PM with your "real name" and address and I can look you up, and discuss the whole situation.

I called Dave after seeing this thread. He was very friendly and knowledgeable, and helpful to me with my questions about possibly switching companies for insuring my 330 2+2. After he did some inquiring and shopping, we came to the conclusion that my best course is continue with Hagerty as my carrier.

Dave works with Hagerty and several other Classic insurers through his office and he suggested that I notify Hagerty if I wanted to use him as my agent of record. I was agreeable to this idea because I will now have a local, personal relationship for my Ferrari insurance, at no increase in premium.

My impression is that Dave is a classic and exotic enthusiast with a strong leaning towards Ferraris who wants to provide owners with some top quality insurance service and look to their best interests. I would definitely recommend calling him.

Just wanted to bring this back up to the top to make sure all new users have seen it too. If you can save money, we'll get more Ferraris in the club! ;)
