I have four Traegers including the Lil Tex. They are also great cookers. I use them mostly like a convection oven and when I cater large amounts of food. Just set it and forget it with a Traeger.

Great price! I still see them in stores for that online price. Guess I'll have to drop by and see if they've dropped all of a sudden.

I've read many reviews, and I wonder... costco komodo or the real BGE for more bucks. I've paid pretty pennies for grills in the past only to discover years later the replacement parts are the same price as the outdated off brand grills. If there's some interchangeable parts, it would be a big plus.

I postponed my purchase a couple of days as it's been raining but looks like it's time to head to Costco see if I can get that deal.

    Awesome! :)

I paid more for mine at Costco ($549) so that's good for you! Mine came with a small lava stone and double tiered rack. I bought a larger pizza stone elsewhere.

I actually got this referral from someone at vision when I asked about accessories which appear to be out of stock at Home Depot Online...

yep!! I bought mine on-line paid the 700+ with tax!! I called and asked if it was in a store where I could just go pick it up!! she replied "no" online item only... I wanted to pick it up for last weekend as I wasn't sure it would get here in time being shipped...

fast forward.... shipment came last thusday... I assembled it in about an hour...

Saturday morning headed to Costco to pick up some "PRIME" steaks to grill that evening..when low and behold!! same grill on closeout for 399!! S**t!! they had about 5 of them...

went to member service, explained what happened... credited me to the lower price!!

brother called Costco.com, to see if they would honor store price... they said "NO" went to his local Costco and picked his up for the $399.00 price!!

not sure if it is a regional price?? or at all costcos... but here in So. Cal (Huntington beach store and La Habra) that's what they cost!!

    good luck.

Unfortunately they didn't have any at my local Costco, so I ended up with a Char Griller Kamado instead. It's not ceramic like the BGE and Vision etc. but double walled porcelain coated and the same size, same accessories etc. The one thing I do like about it is that it has a removable ash pan on the bottom so that you don't have to vacuum or clean from the top. It got really good reviews and seems well built, we'll see how it does. It was about the same price as a weber performer. I'm going to set it up tonight and season the cast iron grate and do some cooking saturday.

Did you use the indirect option? I just got the BGE and used it twice (love it). The indirect heat shelf is an option that does not come with the unit new.

Those look awesome Darth. I tend prefer my BBQ on the darker side, more intense smoke and caramel flavor.

Speaking of which it's been 4 days since I ate any BBQ. Think I'm going through withdrawal. Harris County Smokehouse for lunch it is!

I've had my BGE for years. I want to get one of the tables and get rid of the nest. Anybody here have the table?

I don't own any woodworking equipment in FL, although we have some in our cabin. I might take a trip up to do just that. Was it on the BGE forum?

I've seen some homebuilts on CL for around $150 which is fuel for the roundtrip to the mountains.

    Everything is better with bacon!
That is a good looking dinner right there. No BGE, just a good 'ol propane tank smoker, but I want the egg. The beat retention is awesome. Not getting up to check the fire must be nice!lol

I set it up before midnight and it's still holding at 200 at 10-11 AM when I go out and check it.

Makes for a good late lunch the next day.
