The Bongos were big time spenders in France using money from Gabon (though people called the old man , who was ruler of Gabon, "Bongo of the Congo" because it rhymed.) Anyway in 2013 the French police swooped in on his son's mansion in Nice and grabbed all the loot, which included an Enzo and possibly other cars. The cars went on auction at the Drouit auction. I was wondering if that auction house draws the same clientele as Artcurial , basically did they get market price for the cars or were they bargains? I am just interested in whether you can get a bargain at a government auction (though one report says the cars averaged $300,000 plus each). On what grounds did the French appropriate all these treasures when the crimes the Bongos committed were in Africa?
