    Indeed.

    I'm not a golfer, but spent much time in St Andrews. No matter the conditions, I'm going to drive it! (See what I did there! ;))

    No argument from me there. A fine track indeed. Who's to say the $ won't show up? Didn't I just read Kyalami was coming back?

    Gotta love Google; Redevelopment of ex-F1 venue Kyalami announced - Other news - AUTOSPORT.com

    Cheers,
    Ian

    The French have no GrandPrix anymore, the Belgium GrandPrix is partly funded by the state of Wallone (who see it as state promotion) and partly by Bernie himself who wants to keep the Spa circuit on the calendar. The Germans didn't have a GrandPrix in 2015 for lack of funding, Austria has a GrandPrix due to Mateschitz/Redbull and having four cars on the grid probably helped in persuading Bernie to give them a spot. The Italian GP has been in trouble for years and Spain ?? I don't know, Repsol ??, they do have a motorsport culture, especially when it comes to bikeracing.

    Don't know, but;

    "Circuit of the Americas (COTA) and Grand Prix were first proposed in the middle of 2010. The circuit was the first in the United States to be purpose-built for Formula One. The layout was conceived by promoter Tavo Hellmund and 1993 Motorcycle World Champion Kevin Schwantz[7] Hellmund also revealed that Texas billionaire Red McCombs was the project's largest investor."

    So like in Austria having a billionaire sponsor on board helps as well...

    COTA makes for fantastic F1 races so far.

    Roads would be a possibility, one of the 2 main roads to it is going massive revamps right now. Parking and lack of hotels is the main problem. Perhaps we can drain part of the ocean to build more car park space...;)

    Yeah the sandstorms are a *****, but I doubt anywhere as bad as UAE etc. Walking the dog alongside the beach with sand blasting in your face is definitely not my way of having a good time...:D

    Sure it is Bassie....;-)

    and the rest. Zandvoort is a ****hole, decades of misplanning, with tacky, low rent development and a old GP track limited by noise regulations, environmental issues and lack of funds.

    A place to ignore ;-)
