Ive long been a fan of a good loaf of bread. I even got into the whole breadmaking thing a while ago, the wife bought me a machine to do it with, and after a few so-so attempts, i realised that making bread is harder than you may think. Is anyone into bread making here? If so, what ingrediants do you use? I made a few Pumpkin loafs, as well as tomato loafs. What other loafs are there to make? Im keen to dust off the breadmaker, and getting right back into it. I aim to succesfully make a: Naan Focaccia Black Olive Caibatta Crown Loaf Something that has Sourdough And to perfect my Damper making skills... Its a long shot, but is anyone experienced in this stuff??
I knew there would be some sexual tangent on this thread. Oh well.. Might go start a "What your Favourite Fudge" thread....
When I was 12 I used a home bread making machine and used a normal table spoon and normal tea spoon instead of the measuring spoons. I also forgot to add any yeast. The loaf of bread was 3 inches high, 4 inches wide and only 7 inches long. We figured a slice that was 1/3 on an inch thich was equal to 5 regular slices of bread. < That is the only bread story I have to share. P.S. It tasted fine, just dense.
Anyone know the type of bread they serve at Macaroni Grill? That bread rules. That and garlic bread, mmm garlic bread. Clearly garlic bread takes white/italian bread(both are good) but its worth mentioning because it is yummy.
i'm having Smith's Roast Chicken Crisps on herb foccacia for dinner. i'm a junk-food connaswe... connersio... cionnasor... guy who eats stuff.
I don't eat much bread these days but I used to have a breadmaker and enjoyed using it from time to time. This sounds crazy, but actually I found those just add water prepackaged mixes to be the best. Sourdough was my favorite. I experiemented from time to time with "flavored" breads, but my consensus was that most anything that you could bake into a bread is more enjoyable if you put it on the bread after it has been baked. Tapenades, pestos, tomatoes, etc.
The best thing to every come out of a bread tin is Yorkshire Pudding, made with lots of roast drippings. Mmmmm.
