Check this out. This car is up for aution this week in Monterrey by Christie's.

"The Breadvan": 1961 Ferrari 250 GT
    Christie's
Est: $3.5 million to $5 million

Classic Ferraris are rare and can be extremely valuable. This one is truly unique.

This car didn't leave the Ferrari factory looking like this. Working with a former Ferrari engineer, Italian nobleman Count Giovanni Volpi di Misurata greatly modified the car to improve its aerodynamics.

The high back, a style that has become known as the Kammback, is based on the theories of German researcher Dr. Wunibald Kamm. British journalists dubbed the car "The Breadvan."

"In general it has a mellowed feel, appearing nicely broken in following the restoration," says the Christie's catalog entry. "Of significance, the whereabouts of the original engine (are) unknown, but the Sport Auto restored V12 is certainly up to the task."

One thread on it is good... I'll leave this one here as a pointer to the thread in Vintage... but let's discuss it there. Closed.
