"Maranello, 9 April – Ferrari SpA has recently issued an Attestation for vehicles of historic interest by the Ferrari Classiche department to the 250 GT Berlinetta passo corto (chassis 2819) nicknamed the “Breadvan”. The special document, which has been available since 2009, is dedicated to Ferrari cars that, although they do not comply with the strict Ferrari Authenticity Certification criteria, have been deemed, as a result of their competition and/or international recognized show history, to be of historic interest. Amongst the cars of historic interest from Ferrari, the Breadvan is probably one of the most emblematic models, considering its peculiar configuration."

When we know the history of the Bredvan, we may be surprised to see it in the workshops of Maranello and at the casa di Fiorano ! Enzo must be turning in his grave...

You have to read the new criteria it's more complicated than that.

Basically for this "Type 2" Certification the car has to be a Genuine Ferrari, modified in period, not by Ferrari, that raced in Major Races, or for show by a Major Coachbuilder that was shown at major shows and received Major Press coverage.

All cars like Drogos, Michelotto cars, Daytona Comp conversions (in period and actively raced, the well known cars)
The book is white in stead of red (type I cert)

A Ferrari? I always thought of it as a Volkswagen! :)

Yes, cha-ching, but I suppose it's never too late to state what everyone already knew!

BTW, Marc Sonnery's new book about the Breadvan, titled "Rebel, Rebel" ("The most recognizable Ferrari in the World") is now finally available. It came out a week ago during the Techno Classica fair in Essen, Germany. Published by Tim Parker in USA (www.parkerhousepublishing.com), costs US$ 80,00. English text. Contains many interesting interviews by Marc Sonnery with almost all of the people ever involved with the Breadvan. I personally liked the one with former owner Matt Ettinger the most. The book also has many old pix, never published before. Foreword is by Mauro Forghieri. A must have for every serious Ferrari library and highly recommended.

Mrac Sonnery is working on it for long time. I remember we talked about during the Le Mans Classic 2008. Now I'm looking forward to read it...

No. The problem was that Sonnery's work was finished in 2008 already but the book came out a few days ago only. Marc personally handed out a copy to me last week in Germany. The book exists.

Here is the REAL cover (compare to post #15).

    How many "Breadvan's" were made?
Which one raced at the Coppa Gallenga 1965 (car was silver in color - race #482)?

Only one Ferrari Breadvan as ever made but there is at least one Chevrolet-powered 'Breadvan' that has the same general--if not exact--body design. I think it was produced on an Iso Rivolta chassis.
