    I think not.

I was a F1 fan. I drove to Indy for the USGP. I will not be watching F1 or going to any further races, nor will I be encouraging anyone I know to watch or visit a F1 race

This season was exciting, I regreted not watching the first races ... now I sure as hell have no one to encourage. *uck 'em.

Will F1 be like baseball...and the fans getting over it rather quickly only to return with their passion and $$?

I had convinced several friends and family members--most who prefer NASCAR when they watch racing at all--to join me watching the F1 at Indy. What a mistake! Their "what a silly race series" views were confrimed. ("Jeezus, they can't even get race tires to hold up at Indy?! What a bunch of lily-livered Europeans! Long live NASCAR and real racin'!")

Mentioned this in another thread, but it has solidified my decision to take my one racing vacation per year to MotoGP as long as they run in N. America. Seeing Rossi work his magic vs. seeing what has turned in a circus. F1 has just become all filler, over-hyped the hell out of everything. Briatore could forget to tie his right shoe on race day and on Monday morning you'd be reading on F1 planet, etc. some ridiculous b.s. in the rumor mill. On top of that, they keep making rule changes, but totally ass backwards changes that in no way correct any of the problems with the series (from a driver or spectator standpoint). And if those two weren't enough, now they go and pull this b.s yesterday. I'm glad Ferrari and the FIA didn't cave, but they were both screwed from the word go. Damned if you do,...

Time to get back to basics, I'll still watch F1 on TV, but not worth my money to go see them until they get their act together. I'm way more into going to the 24hrs of Daytona. Just seems like a much better weekend.

This debacle is a direct result of the silly "one set of tires" rule implemented this year in the name of cost reduction.

Michelin had to design for the same rules and conditions as Bridgestone did.
They obviously failed and we all suffer the consequences.

If this causes you not to ever watch F1 again, you probably never watched it seriously to begin with.

I, for one, can't wait for next weeks race.

I Loved the race. Huge Ferrari F1 Fan. we go to Montreal every year to watch the racing. I will continue to go. I agree that the "one set of tire" rule is stupid, but No one complained when ferrari was having trouble with their tires all year. i also feel that the rest of the field needs to be severly penalized for their actions.

Being a huge F1 fan, these events will not stop me from watching the next race... in fact I look forward to it. I am, however, extreamly upset with how the situation unfolded. The FIA and Michelin better get there sh*t together. This stupid tire rule needs to be throw out ASAP. The future of F1 in the US is grim, and that is being positive! There is no way that they will be invited back to Indy... ever!

There in lies the problem. A real fan will always watch. When baseball had thier issues, as big a baseball fan as i was i stopped watching, although temporarily. Base in america is so big it's popularity probably cannot be measured. F1 on the other hand was just starting to build a fan base here and now all the casual fans that watched the event and were starting to get into it are now lost forever. the hardcore F1 fans here will still watch, myself included. That being said i think the whole situation was appaling all around.
