Let me help on #7. The Optima Red top is superb! I just put one in my Fiero (probably didnt need too)...but my voltage meter went up and power supply is a lot more reliable.

    The long way home

The "SV" logo on the side was a simple decal that many owners removed immediately! No sticker does nothing to indicate 98 or 99.

Was it Asgar or Robert (British accent?) that was upset? You have to understand that their first priority is to protect the privacy of their customers. They have no way of knowing if you will block out plates, or all of a sudden their customer's car and plate is plastered all over the internet. Don't take any offense.

BTW, the Gallardo SE should have come this way by now... sorry Vancouver.

I'm organizing the FCA-NWR trip to Victoria, B.C. for our USA club and am inviting both the NW Lamborghini Club and the FCA-Western Canada Region.

2 weeks ago the FCA-Western Canada Region President asked me if Ferrari owners that are not FCA members could attend and I'm happy to announce that our Board of Directors has approved this. Please consider attending this elaborate event for two nights on Victoria's waterfront with local drives to scenic overlooks, winery tours and dinners.

More updates will be coming soon, but due to legal restrictions and safety concerns I am not permitted to publicly broadcast any specifics on route, destinations or events, please contact me privately to be put on the mailing list.
    Thank You.

PS - I respectfully ask that only Ferrari Owners respond.

    Hi Scott,

You may want to post this in Lamborghini.chat as well to grab the Lambo owners attention.

    Cheers,

    Excuse my punctuality, but:

Monday AM: Azzuro Cali F430 Spider coming off Point Gray (Cornwall) and turning right up Burrard (away from Bridge).

Friday AM (today): Red w/ Stripe 360CS coming over Burrard Bridge, entering downtown, and turning right towards Yaletown. I continued over the bridge and down Point Gray to UBC when a silver 550Maranello passed me near Alma and PG.

Not a bad week. :) I'm probably forgetting others. Tons of Porsches (nice black 997TT with wheels on Marine Drive), Maseratis, AMGs, M6s, etc...

Where is Lamborghini of Vancouver? I want to see that Ithaca Verde Gallardo SE unless the owner has picked it up already.

Is it true that Ferrari/Maserati of Vancouver is moving two doors down from MCL? I drove by there the other day and looked like a sign that said they were building a new building for FMoV. Anyone know anything about it?

yeap - FNA insists on a building more appropriate to the Ferrari brand. Sounds like the FMoV owner will be able to showcase some of his collection with the extra room. Not sure if it'll also be used for the Alfa Romeo sales, but FMoV will be selling those too.

I heard from one member that Optima's aren't lasting as long as they should now - good to hear your Fiero's happier with it and "you're" driving. Good news: excuse #5 is now officially false - we're looking at a couple of weeks, after I get my back from my next trip. So subtracting #7 from #2 = driving!

not going to happen for at least 2 to 3 years. that used to be a gas station so they have to dig out the gravel. also, i don't believe they have made site plans or anything like that. btw the sign has been there since last summer.

I agree with FNA. They do need a better location. The current location as too far out of town and not in the best of areas. Do you know what kind of Alfas they are planning on selling?

My friend is an electrical expert and deals with car electrical systems. He told me to get an Optima Red top because they are one of the best batteries for a vehicle. Honestly I know abosolutely nothing about batteries and took his word. I have noticed a slight difference since putting in the Optima. It works for my Fiero...but then again, Ferrari vs. Fiero...Im sure there is something better. Hehe

At least the V8 Alfa in '09, I think it was. at $200k USD though it wasn't cheap - who knows what the dollar/lira will look like in a couple of years, and a few years of inflation. It'll take a few Fiero's and 348's to trade for one Alfa. I recall '09 was also the dealership migration date.

I'm less knowledgeable on batteries than you - sounds like a good move then.

Wow I didnt think Alfa would be actually coming back to North America. Looks just like more competition for the Maseratis. They probably will not effect Ferrari sales.

I'd love to see this Alfa come to NA...

It was Asgar, and I didn't take any offence from him.

He's very friendly infact. And I understand all this privacy protection , but from my experience, most of the owners don't really mind it. I always ask them first.

A welcome invitation. But I have a question regarding the ramps used to drive cars on ferries to/from Victoria and Vancouver Island. Sometimes, when the tide is out, the ramp lowers onto the ferry at a very sharp angle. Seeing this on occasion, I've thought there's no way my CS could get on that ferry w/o scraping the beegzees out of my front bumper and skid plates. Conversely, when the tide is high, the ramp lowers onto the ferry in an almost flat angle, posing no problems for driving on board. I may just be paranoid, but I haven't ventured to take my CS over to Vancouver Island for this very reason. Anyone else perceive this might be a problem.

Paul, are you a member of the FCA club (Western Canada region specifically)? If so, I suggest you speak to some of the Island members (like the gentleman above, "ferrariguy") to get info on this. I haven't heard of any disasterous stories...

I remember the fixed ramp at the Nanaimo terminal was somewhat steep, but I wasn't in my Ferrari at that time and in any case, my 308 has no air-dam up front, so I clear alot of short, abrupt inclines.

I think that's what Craig Parsons mentioned back in December - that the new, larger premises will be able to accommodate everything under one roof (Alfa, Ferrari and Maserati).

Talks of bringing Alfa have been going on for about 3+ years. I don't see them coming. But I hope i'm wrong...
