And I've been surprised how many cars actually went through insurance ;)

Goes to show, ICBC/Carproof et al are not enough! Inspection at a qualified body shop should be done!

Excellent point of concern, please allow me to address it.

The standard weekend for this event was changed as I've picked Aug 3-5th for its superior tides to alleviate these exact issues. There are No negative tides all weekend and our Friday/Sunday sailings are at +3 feet and +4 feet respectively to make it easy for low clearance cars getting on and off the Ferry.
Jackson T. will be bringing his 360CS so it would be great if there was another Challenge Stradale attending.

    Scott

PS - Peter, it would great to see you attend in that clean, black Ferrari of yours. I really enjoyed talking to you last September at the Italian Concours and learning about the modifications that you've made to the Ferrari.

Do you guys mean the one that was on Joseph's website?

Interesting note about that car. Take a look at the following MLS link for this super-mansion for sale in Vancouver West-End, and specifically, take a look at the garage photos:

    http://www.mls.ca/PropertyDetails.aspx?PropertyID=4944494

    Sweet place, eh? :D

I don't know where the owner was from. What I do remember, was that it was his first Ferrari after coming from a background of restoring and driving classic British cars (Jags and stuff).

Apparently, this car was a garage queen and suffered from the typical "lot-rot"... He had to go through the entire fuel-injection system to get it to run right and pass Aircare.

One of the Pantera owners that was at the show was talking to him at great length about the car, so I have no idea if he bought it or not...

Wow - nice little "hot tub" in his basement.

For $11m I'd fill that garage to the brim, double-deck it, and have a full-time mechanic onsite to keep all the oil and batteries fresh. Heck, the garage is twice the sf of my entire house!

PS: west-end is between just East of Stanley Park, this place is on the West Side - out towards UBC. A whole different tax bracket out "there".

My bad. But on the other hand, I could be excused as both areas are not my usual stomping grounds and am not familiar with the nuances of "-End" and "-Side"... I'll worry about that once I'm ready to move out to either districts when I add a few more zeros to the end of my account statement.

    ;)

I can just imagine hearing those neighbors now (in a thick, upper-crust English accent): "Oh dear, here comes that scraggly-looking young man driving that 308 GT4".

Yep. The pics I got of the cars were from that garage. It was sooo strange to see it on MLS... for some reason I thought I'd look around Van and saw that place.

There were some other really nice cars in that garage!

after looking around and finally recently buying my new place the other day, I was amazed at how much some of these houses which need major work are going for in Vancouver right now.

A million bucks does not get you much these days.

Gentlemen, thanks for your advice and warning on some of the 328's that might be available (and avoided) in BC. Yes, most defintely will obtain CarProof (which now includes ICBC history), and PPI's by mechanic and body shop.

I believe Peter is correct that the silver 328 and red TR from the Drummond Drive house were advertised on Joseph P's website. As I recall the cars were photographed on the lawn in front of the house.

Not sure if it's still the case - but in years past: you likely wouldn't meet the entrance criteria for the West End. Unless you looked like those guys on the 355 owners manual, or that picture of Vasco and PAP348 in their tight little shorts :D

Now the west side - that's a different case, I can't imagine paying in property taxes every year there, what my entire house is worth here. Maybe have to work a little bit smarter to try it out and see :)
