Hey peeps, havent posted here for a few days.

On Saturday night I went to the Canucks game then went for some drinks after at a bar close by. While walking back to our car, 3 friends and I witnessed a drunk driver loser control of his car and hit a tree. We ran to the scene and the driver was completely wasted. We called 911, the guy tried to run...but his car was so messed that he wasnt going anywhere. He got arrested later on.

It kinda ruined the night for my car spotting adventures...at least 1 less drunk driving idiot is off the road for a while.

I didnt make it to the car show yesterday, but planning to go on Friday. I know I'm not missing much so I'm not too disapointed that I havent gone yet.

Honestly, I don't think it's worth it to display these exotic cars at the Autoshow.

I understand what you mean. The buyers for those cars are not really there. However, it does make sense to have exotics there. You know how many people pay to go to the auto show just to see a couple of f-cars, lambo's etc? They need to be there.

yep I understand your point of view, The "SHOW" needs them there, they should be paying Ferrari and Lambo to show up, not the other way around. Heck they should be contacting local Ferrari clubs and asking them to display some cars.

Just go to the dealership where you don't have to pay for anything! This year's auto show is not attractive. we all know that Audi R8 is not out in Van-city yet... no new bimmers, there aren't any facelifts/redesign for exotic cars... I would rather wait for the Ferrari Vancouver Grand Opening at Aberdeen Centre.

I agree with Todd. Although an autoshow seems pointless without super cars, these autoshows in Canada as well as the other small shows around the world are just a waste of time. The autoshows here are basically the domestics against imports such as toyotas, hondas . . . and u get wat i mean. It is a waste of money for exotics dealerships to display f-cars and lambos since 99% cant even think of buying the new exotic cars.

Autoshows in North America are mainly meant for average people to look at cars that they can buy and a have chance to sit in them without going from dealership to dealership with a sales person there.

Unlike in Europe such as Geneva, Frankfurt . . . these main autoshows I believe are paid by the manufactures to display/ introduce for the first time the newest products they have. It is more of debut/ launch for the world.

There we go. I said what I have to say. lol This may seem an unfair position, but it is the truth. :)

*997 GT3 RS in Richmond yesterday. Really wicked car!!!*

I agree about the sales aspect re exotic cars at the car show. Having worked previously for Lamborghini and presently for Panoz and Lotus I can tell you that I have only had one new car sale from all the shows I've worked. Its extremely tiring and repetitive. However it is refreshing and enjoyable to talk to all the enthusiasts and dreamers young and old.

    Read what you are saying...

Of course you can go to the dealership and see these cars. Fine. But you say the shows are boring now? Well if you keep those exotics out don't you think that it just makes things worse for the show?

And is the R8 not going to be on display? We had it here.
