After watching yet another thrilling finish to a great golf tournament...and watched as a relatively unkown journeyman rookie, Todd Hamilton win the Open; cant help wonder how great players like Mickelson and Els must be, to be there every time there is a major on the line and to contend. and how heartbreaking it must be for them to come so close..so very close to within one put of winning it all and enshrining their names in golf folklore for ever and ever...

What a rewarding and frustrating game this is.

Mickelson and Els are obviously incredible players. I do lack an ability to feel sorry for anyone who makes as much money as Mickelson does every year though.

I spent my entire high school and college years working at a club owned and run by a tour player. He only won one tournament in the US and but played for a long time. It is unbelievable how good those guys on tour are, it is a different game at their level.

I was so happy to see Hamilton win. It is great to seem him pull it off like that - especially against someone like Els. When you think about it Els is in there every weekend - Hamilton probably won't get another shot.
