That red one is HOT ! Imagine a Cayman RS ...
As I was driving around in a 2001 Boxster S yesterday this thread got me to thinking.......would I give up the softop and the extra stowage for more money ?? NO WAY !!! To price this thing above a Boxster and below a 911 is INSANE !! It should be the same money as a Boxster. And...I just love the car....it may have 295 HP apparently if my dealer's information is accurate !!
Found a couple more pics, they looks to be a bit more recent. it looks like the rear end has been softened up a bit. I like the older back end better, more aggresive. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
I don't think so. I am happy to see this car, it should be a real sports car, unlike some of the 911 models which have moved more towards GT cars. Cars like this are what Porsche was built on, and I am certainly going to look hard at it when it comes out.
Doesn't the first picture in the pictures above have car titled as the "Boxster S." Seems like Porsche may have made a last minute switcheroo on name / positioning.
Porsche hasnt gone downmarket completely. i mean at least it will be a sportscar and not something else like a sedan or something cheaper than the boxter. now that i think about that name, cayman does kinda suck, and it sounds A LOT like the cayenne.
Errr... those pictures are ALL just photoshops, no real picture (apart from the spyshots) has been released yet.
Maybe so, but the resemblance between the spy shots, and the photoshops are pretty good. Sometimes car companies release 'unofficial' photchops to the public then hang around internet forums to guage the response. It's not like the photshops and spy shots are on opposite ends of the spectrum here, plus, they're fun to talk about.
Let's see, the GT2 looks like the GT3 looks like the TT looks like the na 911 now looks like the Cayman. I consider myself a fan of Porsche, but I just don't get having all these cars look alike.
What, you're surprised a 911 looks like a 911? It's still the same freakin' car, with a couple of variants. Of course they look alike. As for the Cayman looking like the 911, let's wait for the real pics, shall we? That's not rubber, and it's not black. It's a grey pattern, something similar to the carbon fiber weave. And you can't get them in chrome.
