Your 1st question is easy. It would be priced as, and be listed in, the Kitcar & Replica section of ebay at 15-30k
Jim, I also agree its pretty cool. That's why shared it with you a full year ago, long before it was a figment of anyone's imagination on this thread! But just look at the brash certainty of the language in the very first post of this (misspelled title) thread: http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showpost.php?p=141119762&postcount=1 So, if it NEVER EVER did this and NEVER EVER did that, there must be something documentary to support those statements right? Ergo my call for "put up or shut up".
WOW!!; I think there has been more "Mud Slinging" in this thread that could ever be matched by the Cheetah buried up to both axles in a Louisiana swamp with the motor pegged WIDE OPEN!!!.....Mark
You mean the ones with a Buy it Now of $1,500000.00 and always a Reserve Not Met week after week after week... Man I love those cars.
Of COURSE!!!....there was documentation!!!....I was told this was a "Blue Chip" Investment!!....it had the "extremely RARE"...."Radio Delete Option" [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W80PnE6c_P8[/ame]
Some thoughts... The M1 & Rustica never carried Lamborghini badges, even if applied by the parent companies simply to entice Lamborghini to build them. Now, I'm not saying that Lamborghini had anything to do with the concept or design of the Cheetah, simply that MTI was perhaps hoping for more of a partnership than simply using their production line. Maybe this was even just hoping to have Lamborghini's reputation rub off on the final product. Whatever it was, I think more was going on than simply contract manufacturing. Lamborghini did push on with this concept with the 001 & 002, so the Cheetah did evolve into a Lamborghini product, even if they had little or nothing to do with the original concept/prototype.
Joe..I am not going to go back to the name calling and be little of each other as in the past...I guess you feel good doing that to me...no problem do what you want.. Let me make this very clear..I have stated it a thousand times..I am not a language or spelling expert..so what..it is my weak skill..I know it and so does everyone else..but if it makes you feel good to be so hounding on my terriable english skills...well enjoy. Now, I re-read my post (which despite the mis-spelling) is pretty clear..what of this post do you dis-agree with or dont believe? That it was never tested by the military? That it came back here from the Factory in Italy after Geneva? That it never was in the Middle East tested in the sands? It just seems to me..since you state you have researched this vehicle to the ends of the earth...that it would be quite easy for you to prove my statements (which I still today stand behind 100%) as in-correct..I am sure if you did all you state you did....and you have documentation to dis-prove my claims...then you as the 25 year historian with a duty to the Lamborghini community you want to protect would post such documentation to throw to the ground in seconds....I know you would not hesitate a second to dis-credit me....so as you say to me..put up or shut up. I guess we could look at it as a stalmate..you show me first..no you show me first...but the way I look at it..I have made pretty clear statments..AND I re-make those same statements today...so if you are truly here to "protect" us all then provide the documentation to show I am full of crap...the burden is not on me..it is on you to dis-credit my statements.... The one thing I have learned here is to double triple check all our information as well as written word and documentation. I can tell you that is an on-going progress with this machine..with each day and with each new documentation I/we get on this machine..I more firmly stand by my claims...however I will decide when and where it will be presented..and it surely wont be prior to when I want to un viel it and show it to the public...after all, it is mine and I can control when and where it is to be shown and dissplayed with tons of documentation. You need to understand that it is still a lot of fun for me to have an item like this that for years was said to be destoryed and for years said to have been this or that and as we uncover is totaly not correct. I enjoy it...do I also want to be profitable on it..heck yes..I am not a O'Bama follower..I am here to make money and take care of me and mine with out hand outs..but I can still do it in a fashion that I enjoy. I have never made any "false" claims that I am just here as a "Historian" etc etc..cause that is BS..I as you am here to provide for my family...I do it by selling vehicles...as DO YOU TO...
Call me crazy but wouldn't it be better to show your documentation now and let would be interested parties weigh the validity of such documentation to better make a sound decision regarding this vehicle? This is LamborghiniChat.com after all and I am sure some on here are watching this vehicle closely. Or from a pure selling standpoint is it better to wait until the last minute to cause a frenzy of hype with little or no time for due-diligence to be preformed which would seem to be the only reason to wait?
I don't think those questions are of any consequence. But how about: Was the Cheetah commissioned and built expressly for Lamborghini? For what purpose was the supposed Lamborghini involvement? Is this vehicle indeed the one shown at the Geneva show? Is it really the only one ever built? Documentation for these questions would be of great significance to a potential buyer.
My 2 cents. All this is a little premature. Roy does not need to answer anything. So why does Joe and other peeps keep asking? As far as I know, He is not selling the car yet, he has not posted pics of the car yet, he has not posted any doc's yet. This is Roys car, right? Not anyone else's at this point. Just Roy's. This is turning into a witch hunt for no reason.
Roy has made it clear the vehicle is to be sold and because he is not a "Obama follower" profit is his main objective. Claims regarding this vehicle have been made or implied on this forum for the purpose of marketing it. Hype stuff on LamborghiniChat.com and you will be sure that someone will ask you to back it up. I'm not saying Roy can't or won't back it up because I don't know. But I do know this place does not tolerate BS very well.
Well as I said it is not for sale yet and all Roy has said is he is putting the paperwork together. I do not think Roy needs to disclose anything or owes anyone here anything. Reading over the thread, he has not claimed anything.. It is Joe asking for proof. Why does Joe deserve proof, at this point? Roy is right, why is Joe even on this thread? When it shows up on craigslist with some crazy claim that it was not only in Geneva but Enzo himself used it as a daily for a month, then at that point proof might be needed.
Joe had summed it up best in post #110 referring to post #109, however all of this has somehow happened since!
Exactly. Although, thinking about those questions, which have been asked several times, visions of a dead horse being flogged are beginning to materialize...
