Just you wait, till the real world catches up with twenty-five year old movies..... Oh..... One, such as "Firefox"... It's about a retired fighter pilot Mitchell Gant (Clint Eastwood) who, is enlisted by the U.S. government to infiltrate the Soviet Union (back in the days when it was still an Evil Empire) and steal an ultra-top-secret fighter plane with all kinds of superior capabilities. (back when the Stealth bomber was still a struggling prototype). The issue here ..... it was thought controlled..... but ...... you had to think, in Russian.... It "knew" the difference.... I wonder........... if it knew when you had to make a pit-stop!
Them four levers are THROTTLES! Charlie's already given you hint you could fly a C-130 Hercules through!
Throttles is thrust levers, ain't they ? haven't caught the hint, never saw Clint's movie 25 years ago, don't know Russian, so I'm a stuck ol' duck.
They are thrust levers in the technical sense, but they are connected to very large supercharged piston engines - not kerosene burners. At this point even a large bear and a small bear should have it figured out!
Without reviewing the entire thread and at the risk of duplication. (Don't let the name in the upper L/H corner fool ya'.) One of my all time favorites, Image Unavailable, Please Login

More proof by being able to see the round cowling panels and a little bit of the round nose. Switches
Not known by many but that hulking huge airplane was faster than anything the allies had in the air with both engines running and as fast as a P-51 on the rear engine alone. It would have been a formidable airplane IF the Germans had enough fuel to operate it but they didn't. A strong case for the successful strategic bombing carried out by the 8th and the 15th airforces. I worked with the man who was chief designer and test pilot, Henry Quenzler, dpl. engr. with Dornier. He was in Boeing preliminary design after the war. He told me of his frustrations during the test flights with the Do-335 at being shot at so much that he couldn't finish" his data gathering". Bob - All I can say is: Aren't we lucky we don't have today's government to rely upon - otherwise I suspicion I would be speaking German in this email - nicht war?

Lucky? In a way, I think. Fortunate that our government AND the people of this nation recognized the danger and met the challenge with a 110% immediate response. Look what we did in 3 1/2 years and how we did it. Three major nations threatened the world and they were neutralized by an all-out cohesive effort that was properly led and funded. I'm proud that I was a tiny part of it. Switches
