    These were made of bamboo and covered in fabric - then painted.

    I've never seen a picture of one though.

    AwwwwShucks...you guys are too good for me. The first pix was the rare soft winged P-40 or it was pretty hot in CBI. Anaddah pix......yea DJ, out of my P-40 resto album. Like to see the instrument pannel.

    It's the cockpit in the B & W seaplane, (Boeing and Westervelt) circa 1919?................or maybe not. That panel looks a bit more modern than 1919.
