Just a lucky guess. It looks like a prototype layout, not much to it for a fighter in service. I think I'm better with "space junk."
HEY! That's got to be a Spitfire. That sheet metal bulkhead under the instrument panel and the alumium ( ALUMINIUM ) channel on the right side looks to me like a monocoque structure. The Hurricane was made of bolted tubing and hard wire rigging.
By God you are right. I have been misinformed by Google again. That sure looks like an early Spitty. Sorry DJ. No prize 4 u....or for me either....
Okay, heres an easy one. You old guys hold back and let us young bucks figure this out. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm, maybe there aren't any young guys here. Okay, free for all! Image Unavailable, Please Login
Ummmm, What nationality is it? Was it really "S.A.C." equipment? Did it have six Pratt & Whitney R 4360-41 Wasp Major 28-cylinder four-row radials, and later six R-4360 41's and four General Electric J47-1 single-shaft turbojets Were it's dimensions; span 230 ft , length 162 ft , height 46 ft 9 in? Gee I dunno what it is....... Hey..... Wait a minute.... That looks an awful alot like the gun seat in a tie fighter.... or was that the M. Falcon.. I can't remember everything...... Skyraider
Hi Charlie, It isn't the B-36 but good guess. Four multi-row engines. It is American. It changed how the world looked at war forever after.
Hi Spasso, Yeah, ..... I know ..... NOW!!! It is a B- (7 digits less than) 36 whose pilot named her after his mother Should have known better then.... Well, that's what I get for watching Jimmy Stewart / June Allyson movies... I've got "Strategic Air Command" on the brain... Charlie AKA SKyraider
I flew in one of these. It's built by Boeing and it dropped a biiiig bomb. B-29. Could be a B-50 too, I can't see enough detail of the instruments.
Could it be one of these? Lockeed F-80. The only clue is the rounded canopy frame???????????? Image Unavailable, Please Login
Well.... That's at least 2/3's of the name..... 269097, Bell P-63A KingCobra, private/The Fighter Collection, G-BTWR, USAAF marks, taxiing, Duxford, Cambridgeshire, England, Spitfire air show, 2/5/1998
