Seriously, he's made great deductions and contributions, and has led an interesting life. Surely, there is someone to tell us more.

 

What is the serial number of Pipers LM? How long has he had the car?

 

Has he written an autobiography, or anything?

If he hasn't, he ought to.

 

just met him at his house through lyle tanner in the u.k. over christmas. What a cool guy. Should see his cars I will try to post a few photos.

I havn't seen a Left hand drive 250 LM. Nice!

 

How many F-cars does David Piper own?
I know of the 330 P4 s/n 0900, the 250 LM, the 330 P2 s/n 0836 and 365 P s/n 0824.
I heard he has build some more P4s on his own. Does he still own them or did he sell them? Does anybody have some pics of his cars, especially of the P4?
I have some but not many.

8165 is right hand drive, but the cockpit of the LM is so narrow it looks like LHD in the first post.

he still has his cars and was remaking a few (believe it or not) in his garage at home with a few engineer/type of mechanics. The guys are amazing

 

Are you aware that he lost one of his legs in an accident during filming "Le Mans"?

 

More like a foot, but he has overcome it. He is very charming to say the least.

 

I hope I can say the same to my grand children :

"granddad is racing for over 40 years"............... Love it....

IMHO, I find this thread very respectful of Mr. Piper and his further exciting adventures. MORE POWER TO THE ORIGINATOR OF THIS THREAD AND MR. PIPER.

 

You are absolutely right - "respect" is the key word here. Personally I don't mind what people write in their postings as long as Mr. Piper get the respect he deserves.
To me, the title of this thread was highly dubious but perhaps I am taking things much too serious and missed the whole point of the thread in the first place.... No offence taken or intended if it was meant as a joke - except that it just isn't my type of humour then....

 

Go out and rent some Monty Python this weekend. It will start to make sense. Add some alcohol to the mix if it doesn't.

Yes, this is a joke, but not a disrepectful one. Regardless of what all the fake-e-doo P4 owners would have you believe.

 

Piper is my hero, the man consistently races his classics. This is what they were made to do and to me the way they should be used.

- '2000 LeMans 24 Hours, the vintage Ferrari pre-race, after Piper 'killed' all comers in his LM.

- '2007 Rennsport Reunion III, Daytona, Piper and wife refueling. He and she (and a couple of borrowed hands) 'exhibiting' (exuberantly) his 917 on the track......
