85 degrees. One of the issues with this new COT was chewing up right side tires. Concerns of tires going away before the fuel window opened at 40-45 laps. Heat, tires?

And that first telvised race, with the Allison/Yarborough skuffle, and all the antics since then have made NASCAR one of the top sporting venues in the United States. MUCH bigger than open wheel or sports cars combined have ever been.

Even if the IRL/Chump Car split never happened, NASCAR would still have been #1. Because people drive Chevy's and Fords, not Dallaras. Can only apply the "win on Sunday, sell on Monday" concept to NASCAR.

I went to feed my horses/cows and what happened . . . Jeff is in 40th? JPM is in 24th - he needs to start moving. So does Dario in 35th. long as the Busch boys not win I suppose I'll be happy. Dale let Kahne go by now Tony is in the lead ...go Tony. This is some good racing with 29 to go.

Bent control arm/shock mount in the front suspension, and he didn't hit anything. They had to replace the parts and he's back out. The question is how many other cars have that happening and they don't know it?

Thanks for the info Tillman. Is Tony going thru an unusual amount of tires? - seems that I heard earlier mention of him complaining about tires. I guess Dale has stayed out. I'm going out on a limb on this comment . . . .too bad the F1 races aren't exciting at the last part of the race. I like the commercial with the camels.

    JPM is 6th . . go Juan.

Cheering for friggin' JPM and Dario??? Oh dear lord, next you will tell us that JPM didn't run into the rear of his teammate Kimi at Indy. The eastern Ohio water is tainted.

I was really cheering for Tony - I'm now back to Motorcross on Speed - not happy with the Penske 1-2.

That was my Nascar race for the year... Speed Report is on - much better than watching FOX.

That was more like craps than racing. Almost like lotto balls flying out the tube. Let's go to Sebring.

Hey Michael - flying lotto balls is a great description! I'm ready to head to Sebring now! I hope Audi makes their intention known soon - I talked with Andy about the hospitality for Sebring like we had at Petit - he advised me to go ahead and buy tickets to be safe. See you soonly.

That was a pretty good finish. I'd like to see an uninterrupted run to the flag of at least 15-20 laps one of these years.

Toyota 3 & 4. Not bad for their second year in the sport.

JPM 23rd. His 2nd year too. Ouch.

JPM was actually running around 7th close to the end until Harvick had his say. Too bad. Screwed up Mark Martin and Hornish, too.

Got up to 2nd but couldn't stay there. Had he had a lap in 1st place he would have received 5 bonus points. ;)

IMO, it was a bar fight and Newman was the first to find the door. Not a ton of racing/skill/etc in there.

    I agree on the finish.

I think they should mandate a minimum 15 "clean" lap finish....no matter how long it takes or how many cars are left. Lets see who the dedicated fans are then (and I'm not one of them).

Hey, that's an idea. Drop all the races to 75% of their orginal length and after that point the one in front after the first 20 caution free laps is the winner....it would probably turn out to be the same distance =)
