The energy drink madness must stop now!!

WTF?! This **** is WAYYYY out of hand.I saw a redbull vending machine today... that dispensed... you guessed it... Redbull! THAT WAS IT!!!

 

$2.99 each?? I don't know but I feel like these energy drinks are sooooo overpriced. The Monster drinks are the only ones I really enjoy.

 

I tried my first energy drink yesterday. It gave me no energy. Just a crappy taste in my mouth. Tasted like cough medicine. Total waste of $3. Never again.

 

This stuff is also a bit over the top:

Coke infused with the 'essence' of coffee

Tastes pretty nasty and costs a bunch

I love energy drinks, Red Bull with Jager...MMM now thats a good drink or Red Bull and Vodka...but thats not my favorite. As a marketing student I study RED BULL and use it a lot in my papers. Interetesting company.

 

My Fraternity house has a rockstar machine that only dispenses Rockstar.

Are you kidding?? Theyve been making a FORTUNE off this craze.

Let me say that I have never, to date, and WILL never spend a dime for any of these drinks. They taste like crappy medicine and are loaded with bad stuff.

Once again, society is killing itself with chemicals and crap that don't belong inside your body. And "The Man" is profitting.

 

There is one drink called Gay Fuel

 

When I was going through my divorce in 2000 I dated a - ahem - Dancer. All the girls were drinking Vodka/Red Bull, first time I ever heard of it.

They called it "Stripper Fuel"...

 

I was at a place in Houston when a cocktail waitress asked me what I wanted to drink. I ordered myself something and then I remembered a buddy of mine wanted a Redbull/Vodka. So I simply added on, "...and I'll take a Redbull and vodka too."

Then she just flatly said, "Well, how about SUM POOSIE ?" in the most dead serious sounding voice.

I had no idea she was talking about an energy drink by the way she said it so I just idiotically mumble out "what?!?"

Then she just rolled her eyes and gave me a really stupid look as if I should have known it was a drink. Men can't be played with like that!

 

Agreed. I have never even taken a sip of these drinks. As you say, loaded with bullsh*t.

The closest I've come to energy drinks are Gatorade and a cup of coffee (not at the same time ).

fwiw i'm medically 'banned' from caffiene. yes, i can no longer drink more than a standard dose of caffiene. i actually get palpitations, imagine holding your breath for 3 minutes and getting no heartbeat for about 40 seconds then all of a sudden getting 20 weak heartbeats in 4 seconds.... that's what a caffiene overdose is. i've experienced that quite a few times now and it's definitely NOT fun.

as for it's effectiveness... energy drinks are ONLY GOOD IN 2's. read again, you will not feel anything with one drink, you NEED two!

seriously, i was dependent on these drinks for several years for getting going in the morning. get me up at 13:00 and i'm fine to werk hard until 07:00am, but if you want me up at 8:30am for a dumb-ass meeting.... PAY ME!!!!!!!

2 energy drinks with no breakfast and you're seriously pepped until 2 or 3 int he afternoon, when you get back from a big schnitznel and 4-pints-of-beer meal, well, you either sleep or have an energy drink.



but know this, energy drinks DO werk.

also know this, you NEED at least 2.

also know this, your defense to excessive caffiene/(whatever) will run out and you'll be left on your own devices again soon. (this is NOT fun )

 

Buy the stock, not the drink.

I've tried them all, sometimes I'd buy 2 a day, they worked a little, Full Throttle by Coke has stepped in and so will others and smash the little guys, can't believe RedBull still gets $2 for 1/2 the size of others.

Tried Redline from GNC this is the only stuff that really works, a few swigs and you are going is all it takes.
