Beautiful photos. Jim, your car looks more and more stunning each viewing. I find more interesting things each time. Thanks, Manny
That car looks absolutely ridiculous. A Vector looks like a Michelangelo next to that thing. Nothing like idiots with money who don't know when to leave well enough alone. I wouldn't even mention them or it in the same breath as the P4/5.
I don't know, but I'm having trouble placing that flat black model. I've seen photos of a stunning flat black 575M in Switzerland. Maybe it's the angle, or the light, but is this the same car? Looks more like 430, but I think it is the light. IMO, no 550 or 575 is more beautiful than when it's done in flat satin black. <Drool>
Jim, I understand if this is a question that you can't really answer, but I figured I'd ask it anyway. What sort of constraints does Ferrari put on Pininfarina and their design for future cars, and why is this done? I understand the need behind "form following function" for certain practical things, but it's obvious from your car that Pininfarina has just as much knowledge as Ferrari on things that they would want to influence, such as aerodynamic performance and packaging, and yet they still managed to get the looks part of it incredibly right. That article was the second one in which I have read about Pininfarina speaking on the "constraints" they are put in from Ferrari, and I thought of all people, you would know the most.
How did I manage to miss this thread until now? Anyway, congratulations Jim. You have a truly amazing piece of automotive art. I hope you are enjoying it as much as it looks like it should be enjoyed.
I wont repeat all the obvious praise that your project deserves, plenty of others have already done a fantastic job of that. Just wanted to personally say thank you for following your dream and proving that they do come true. Is there any chance you will be bringing it to the Ferrari Days@ Limerock next year? I have been attending this for a number of years, I was standing next to Sals (sp) FXX this year while you were showing him the pictures of the project. I have made recordings of this and past years events and would like to offer you a CD of them as a sort of token of appreciation for giving FerrariChat members an inside glimpse into this historic event. PM me an address if your at all interested, thanks again
Next time you think about bragging about your driving think about these two. Riding with Rene as he tested P 4/5 is not something I'll ever forget... http://youtube.com/watch?v=Aq6wfvKb74Y&mode=related&search=
Charlie Thomas and I had dinner with Joe Moch and Tracey last night. They both spoke highly of you and I had to agree! Thanks for posting that fantastic clip.
You at home? Hows the weather? Glad to hear she has some miles, but I think a nice cruise to California is in order Peter
