Did you get a trophy case for all your awards? Do you have a pic of all of them together? Congrats on another great award.
My thought's exactly. Does that have some sort of stand. Is there some symblism to it, or is it just a peice of abstract art? Peter Hatch
Here's another article http://www.topspeed.com/cars/car-news/the-concorso-d-eleganza-design-award-to-ferrari-p4-5-ar33342.html It has a better look at the trophy.
And another gallery... http://www.italiaspeed.com/2007/events/ville_deste/p45/gallery_vde_1/gallery.html
Jim, I was looking at the italiaspeed photos and noticed two latches on the inside of the door on the P4/5. I was curious as to what those were for, it seems that a regular enzo only has one from the pictures I could find. Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
On the P4/5 it was relocated to the front inner door jam, on the Enzo its on the back part of the jam. Image Unavailable, Please Login
The Italian edition of EVO magazine had a story on the P4/5 a while back and I just thought it would be translated and printed in an English edition of EVO. Did I miss the edition or was my assumption in error? Has a full story on the P4/5 been printed in EVO magazine in English?
Hi Yes. Evo 098, Gordon Murray: "How many of our today's cars will be considered classics in, say, 20 or 30 years' time? One that will be is the brand-new Pininfarina-designed one-off Ferrari P4/5 supercar, based on a Ferrari Enzo. All supercars have presence and a certain "dramatic" look, but not all of them have style. The Enzo is certainly dramatic, but it manages to look very large (it is!) and very disjointed - the lines just don't flow. Panel shut gaps are too big and obvious, the front overhang is just too long, and the whole effect is styling rather than style. Enter the P4/5 - a truly beautiful, balanced shape. I'm sure Pininfarina will have the "retro" finger pointed at them, but while there's no mistaking its heritage, the style is crisp, fresh and bang up to date. This is not a sycophantic exercise like the Ford GT but very much a new design in its own right. If I was offered the keys to either the Enzo or the P4/5, I know which one I would be driving home."
Jim, would you mind telling me who your insurance agency is? (Writing a paper on image analysis... picked the Hagerty insurance advertisement in Pracing Horse). Thanks! -Joe
Hi Jim, I have EVO 098 and agree wholeheartedly with Gordon Murray's comments. But there was another article in the Italian version of EVO with a lot of accompanying photos. I didn't buy it because I just assumed it would be translated and reprinted in an English issue. DAMN!
I'm quite sure it has, not sure which issue. If you search their web site I think you will find it. Best
It looks like the roof is right on top of your head. Do you ever bonk it while driving? Whats the max height to sit comfortably in an Enzo/(P4/5)? Nice Award by the way, not quite sure how you can display it though. Somewhat ironic that that piece of metal went to winner of the design award.
"A few months." Sorry, but I was just scanning back through the first couple of pages of this thread (and also realized how old it is), and couldn't help but laughing at your first post, Jim. Did you have any idea how much of a "major effect" this journey would have? And how many times did you just start chuckling to yourself as you made people pull their hair out in speculation at what this "something" was? You must have had a good time. I would also like to say thank you, as this is the thread that got me hooked here back in August. Whether or not my addiction is a good thing remains to be seen, but I will say that it is great to see someone with the capabilities as yourself do what you did and are still doing with this car. Congratulations on the award, and well done.
+1, going back and reading the beginning of this thread is great fun. I remember the first time I saw it I didn't get it and just passed over it. It took many many pages before it caught my interest. You did a great job of teasing us.
