We'll have to see but remember the purpose of this car isn't to win races. I'm hoping for a good looking, very street usable Supercar that will be comfortable for great drives on great roads with the one I love and enough of her luggage to keep her happy.
Enough luggage to keep her happy? Ah, so this will be an estate, shooting brake, whatever the fancy name for station wagons? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I was given a ride in one of those once. (One done by PF) and it was done to a very high standard. A lot of work went into it and it showed. They even replaced the auto box with one that worked great.
Hi Jim out of my idle and humble curiousity... Q. Did you drive the Enzo while it was virgin stock? you haven't answered about it's doors... how will it be called ? P.S. Sorry if I'm being annoying
See post #184 of 8 February 2006 for the name of the car and for the original NY license plate on the car. Marcel Massini

Having been privileged to see some prototype pics, my guess is that the public reaction to this car will be like the 599: 1. Some of you will love it. 2. Some of you will hate it. 3. Some will like certain aspects and hate the rest. 4. Others will hate certain parts and love the rest. However, the really cool thing is that none of this matters. This is Jim's car. It is his vision of how a modern exotic Ferrari should look. It doesn't get much more "Old School" than this. You take one demented car nut and mix him together with the premier Italian body builder, and the result is nothing like anyone has ever seen before - or may seen again. Even if you don't like the car, you'll end up admitting that it leaves no doubt that it is an Italian exotic sports car. In this world of copy cat "Bangle" sharp edges, the curves on this car are truly refreshing. Play on brother. Wave your freak flag high! Dale
I don't like Bangle's "Flame surfaces" style - too transient. I like curves, women have curves, so should cars.
when maybach came with the excelero, i thought: "nice" when a swiss banker ordered the morgan aeromax, i thought: "great!" now that i read through all this, i think: 'oh my...!!' I've always been a fan of coachbuilding, it just so nice to see people make their fantasies into reality. and i feel like your fantasy is very close to mine. Jim, fantastic work and a project to be proud of! you'll get known as the count volpi of the americas
I've been following this thread periodically, but haven't read every post... Forgive me if some of this has been addressed.... Is the wheel base / track unaltered from the enzo? Center driving position, with a single seat or 3 seat configuration? or a more standard 2 seat / 2+2 / or 4 seat arrangement? Like the rest, I am enjoying the speculation and the dream... If I could build whatever I wanted what would it be.... Thanks for sharing!
I can only hope the car will make it to florida... Perhaps maranello madness in November 2006... Perhaps the 2007 Cavallino Classic
Unfortunately, there are those who believe that a rebodied Ferrari, such as Jim's Enzo, is no longer a Ferrari and, thus, not eligible for events like Cavallino. The irony, if this view does prevail, is that these same "purists" are the ones who will most appreciate this car. Dale
