Great event but she's round tripping to the Bahrain GP and won't be back over your way for a while. Best
Just watched the Palm Beach interview. If I ever meet you Jim I am buying you a beer just for being a top bloke haha Never heard of anyone with such automotive passion. Keeping the fleet driveable and in perfect condition must cost a small (maybe even a large) fortune but driving a MkIV GT40 race car through New York must be just mindblowing. Keep it up mate. Awesome stuff.
ill agree with necx0 if/when i meet you (and once i turn 21) i will buy you a beer for being such a all around good guy and laid back guy! im hoping that one day this summer when its warm you will maybe meet up with me and take some pics of the p 4/5 and even if not i want to see it at a show
Having not grazed through over 4,000 posts here; are you still negotiating a deal to make a scale model that would be retailed? Thanks CH
To save Jim from having to copy paste his answer again (I understand your position, 4,000 posts is quite a few to look through). Since all parties involved; Ferrari, Pininfarina, and Jim, have to unanimously agree on every part of the process (a very daunting task) it is taking much longer than was expected, but it will be worked out eventually, and when it is Jim will let us know. This is a good point. I have the juvinial ideology of "strap-a-rocket-on-it-what-the-hellness." But it is the drivability that has made your car what it is. I guess anybody can take a BMW M engine and put it in a Bathtub and drive at LeMans, but it takes Gordon Murray to make it streetable. The P4/5 is more "Shakedown" rather than "McBain." _J
Rossa P4/5 is different from Rosso Corsa right? It seems the P4/5 is darker than Rosso Corsa, similar to the F1 car.
It's a custom color PF came up with. A blend of 1967 Ferrari Rossa Corsa and 1930 SF Alfa Rossa Corsa. It's the color of P 4/5 and my 8C will be custom painted the same color.
Some of the old 60's Ferrari models were painted 'Rosso China'. Do you know if RC is lighter or darker than the custom color PF came up with for you? Thanks CH
Don't know and without seeing them side by side it would be hard to tell. Rossa P 4/5 is a special paint designed to make Carbon Fiber look like Aluminum so it would look different if sprayed on Aluminum.
Very cool, Jim. Hey, if I sprayed it on my Nissan would it look like carbon fiber?? It's amazing the lengths Pininfarina went to. Hope NY is clearing up...
Jim, This is very cool, might we see it on speed "Alongside the classics from its racing heritage, a selection of the Italian companys road cars will also be exhibited, including a 1967 Ferrari 275 NART Spyder - one of only ten built. The 1988 F40, 1995 F50 and 2003 Enzo will also be on show, alongside the unique Ferrari P4/5, a one-off US$4 million masterpiece." http://www.formula1.com/news/headlines/2008/3/7559.html
