The F50 Boldie was never made Jim, good to hear of your new project. Am i close when i'm guessing a modern interpretation of the P3 / P4 / P3/4 ?
No photos of Jim's creation have surfaced publicly, but I'm sure there are certain people here who have seen things that others haven't. When the time is right, I am sure he will share more, or we'll just have to wait until August as expected. >8^) ER
I really didn't mean for it to go this far- I just thought I'd fire up photoshop and mock up some ideas using the Enzo as a base. Once I got the roof on it kind of took on a life of it's own and here I am, eight hours later. I have absolutely no idea what the finished product will actually look like- this is straight out of my head using the Birdcage and P4 as inspiration. Enjoy.. Image Unavailable, Please Login
I don't think that that was what Jim had in mind. The others seem to like it though.... Image Unavailable, Please Login
Jim Wow fantastic. Im glad that there are people on this planet like you who have the enthusiasm (and money of course) to dream up projects like this. Like everyone else I look forward to the pics. Now two questions: 1. Can I have the spare bits off your enzo to make my Mondial t look like an Enzo? 2. Please can you do something about the looks of the 599 GTB???
Adnaan Thanks. Seriously as you can see from my adv. in the adv. section of FCHAT I do have a few Enzo parts for sale. Chris Don't quit your day job... Still waiting for my MO-53 Tee shirt. Best
My favourite thread ever! I saw someone else ask this earlier, but haven't seen a reply; you say it won't need badges for it to be recognised as a Ferrari. Will it actually have badges on it or not. I assume there is no legal reason why it couldn't? Cheers!
Legally the car is a 2003 Ferrari. Your assumption is correct. My current thinking is to leave the nose badge, have PF badges, but remove the shields. Best
Having had little access to the internet for the past 2months I've only just come upon this whole thread and read all the way through it... and I must say, I'm amazed. No... much more than amazed! You're a hero Hours and hours I've spent marvelling at all the one-offs coachbuilders used to make years ago, each newly discovered variation of a Ferrari leaving me tingling with awe. And now its happening right here, right now. I thought this process of having smth unique done was long gone, lost to the mass (as even the Enzo is mass compared to the one-offs of years ago) production, mass culture, mass everything. Its absolutely exhilarating, I can't even begin to express my joy at whats happening. So, from me - a huge thankyou for bringing back to life and sharing with us this 'adventure'. An adventure I've always admired. Hope it all turns out well, cant wait! PS. When can we expect it to turn up in Europe? I've got to see this in person!
Dear Jim, IMO you need no PF or F badges. Nobody else in the whole world can desing a car like Pininfarina has designed your car. The curves and lines are so italian-sexy and without any doubt the handwritings from the master itself - Pininfarina. Rosso Corsa, the sound, the handling and down force will explain enough its a FERRARI. And within a few weeks/months your 612 P4-5 will be the most famous car all over the world.....and needs no more explanations or letterings/markings. Yours Wolfgang P.S......for sure I would also ad the F front badge and the side PF badges
@Jim, I would be more than willing to be the first artist to do a drawing of this, in my own words and most sincere judgement; "Heavenly revelation of pure divine beauty" or "The Red Goddess" that she really is! You may quote me for these words! Just say the word, and I'll do it! (Of course it would not be shown anywhere until after the revealing of the car!) Prints of this drawing could be made and sold to the public at the presentation of the car at Pebble, or perhaps given away to the people involved in the project as a memorable gift from you?!?! Anyway, it's just an idea! Best regards Carsten
What is going to be a real hoot is that, as I understand it, you should be able to get this car on the lawn at Pebble as a prototype. However, it will not qualify for Cavallino because, laughing, it will no longer be a Ferrari. You know what would be cool? If you have the time, bring the car down to Crystal Cove after Pebble and park it next to the dune buggies, Lambos, Ferraris, Buick Straight-8s, CGTs, and see which car draws the largest crowd. It don't think that it would be even close. Dale
I have the Feeling Ferrari might ***** if it has the horsies, as the car wasn't "their" idea. Might simply not be worth the potentil hassle...
Thanks Stuart, I will leave it up to Jim! I would consider it a great honour to do such a drawing for Jim, and I would not charge him for the making of the original drawing, which would of course be given to Jim afterwards! However, I would need to have my expenses covered for the making of prints, and the shipping of prints to the US! Best regards Carsten
Carsten, what a wonderful idea to draw THE car! I want to support your idea and I will happy pay you for the prints & shipping costs to the USA. Now, you only have to wait for Jims: "DO IT!" Wolfgang
Put me on the list if you get the OK!! I am quite privlidged to have seen a preliminary photo, and NO, it's up to Jim and NOT me to share it or not at this time. It's off my hard drive and printed, so no one can hack in and find it
Thanks a lot again Stuart, The pics are not on my PC anymore either! I burned the pics on a CD rom and deleted the files from my PC!
Thanks a lot for your support buddy, it's a very generous offer of you! We'll wait and see what Jim has to say about the idea! Perhaps if I could be at Pebble in August to sell the prints myself, then I would get some of my costs covered that way.....let's see what time will bring! I would sure like to be there! Warm regards Your friend Carsten
