Until it's finished there's no way to know but I doubt they'll reach that weight. The hybrid system will weigh a good 100 KG. In full road trim my guess is around 3000 lbs.

That still sound like an insane number, I mean 800hp with 1365 +~100hp from the hybrid...that thing is gonna be crazy fast...itl make the enzo look like a toy

Hey Jim, don't you think it would be an issue for a road car to flow air, water and dirt through the doors? I'd also wonder about safety and door thickness. I think they'd have to shorten the door height and just modify the body.

Not at all. On Ferrari P 4/5 by Pininfarina and P 4/5 CM it does and has for years without any issues. Both have much more side impact protection than an Enzo as the inner door intrusion beams when the door is closed meet up with the roll cage structure which is very strong on the road car. On the race car the cage is fixed. The key is managing air across the nose, past the top and sides of the fenders, into the engine compartment and out through the back. The shape of the front radiator outlet is very important and angling it outwards as the new 599 does, the new Enzo will, and our new P 4/5 CM nose does is very important.

Aero function does and will dictate form. The other key is managing the air past the tires which act as dams and accelerating it under the car.

Thanks Jim. The photos you posted (from Ferrari?) imply there may be a channel through the door that's covered with the outer door skin. Am I seeing that wrong? Your design is open.

The "7.3 liter V12" is pure fantasy as is most of the "information" in the article. From everyone that I've talked to, the engine will be larger than FF/F12 engine but not 7.3 liters.

IT aslo has a flywheel system which is impossible to adapt to road cars. requires like 20 engineers every time you start the bloody car, also those motors weight a bunch, while ferrari's KERS is integrated into the starter motor, replacing it.
