One of the six F50's at the Supercar Driver Secret Meet 05-07-2022 at Donington Park. Below the one in Rosso Barchetta with a full straight-through Tubi exhaust. I don't know if it stil has the alcantara steering wheel. Image Unavailable, Please Login Photo courtesy of theoctaneaddict (on IG)

Just waxed mine, will take some pics in the sunshine and post up. They look so much better with the roof on don’t they, but so much more fun to drive with roof off! Let’s talk exhausts… my car currently has Tubi manifolds, original cats and Tubi pipes from cat back. My feeling is it’s simply too loud for 2 reasons: 1, I can’t leave the house in the early morning (best time for a summer drive) without waking all the neighbours up and 2) when you are under full throttle acceleration the noise above 5k rpm is just so loud and intense it’s like an F1 car, and it doesn’t feel right to me to be doing that on the public road. And as we all know, if you don’t rev out the F50… it’s not that fast, it NEEDS to be revved out I am thinking of putting the standard back boxes on or maybe getting some custom silencers made. Just wondered if anyone had any thoughts?
Hi Joel, the sound of the F50 is a major contributor of the experience. You are absolutely right about the embarrassment of taking it out or driving it at high rpm let alone the impact it has on others. Many have Tubi and few straight pipes (you have the latter slightly muted due to the cats) as they believe the original is too ‘quiet’. However, there are good news. I noticed that the loud ‘gases’ noise emanating from the exhausts in the first two above overshadow a much more delicious, angry and raw ‘mechanical’ sound (that you get from the original exhaust system in place) that comes from the 60 valves, chains, gears ect. You can hear some of what I mean in Davide Cironi’s F50 review (you will be as happy watching that video as driving your car…) Alternatively, talk to Manu from Scuderia systems at Egham and he had a Capristo exhaust specially made for the F50 (best of both worlds). He knows more than many who think they know. He is on F-chat as murcialago-boy or something similar.
