Looking at photos on Instagram and it looks like his F50 is out front. I hope your son and yourself are having fun. It’s a treat to see a F50. I’ve been researching these cars and have seen iirc 4 F50s, all in either a dealership or a controlled environment. I didn’t see my first F50 until I was 27. So for your son to see one that someone is going to hop in and drive home is awesome.

When I saw the pics I was surprised to see the owner Dennis had left the suspension up for the pictures and whilst on display, but as you state he wasn’t around that would explain why it was left up possibly.

I noticed that as well. It wasn’t clear to me that he was the one who had parked it there (it moved around over the course of the weekend) so hopefully if it was a handler they didn’t get in too much trouble.

That said, I’d be happy to take care of such things next time, if any F50 owners happen to be reading this.

He may have just forgotten. Many are accustomed to just letting the system lower itself and never bother to do it manually.

There are a lot of sellers who are quite high, perhaps literally.

I'm often asked to evaluate Ferrari Supercars, especially at this point where the cars are old enough to have had occasion for refurbishment, as such it's always useful to have a database of truly original cars as a base comparison. Here's an original F50 which displays the correct original factory finish for the exhaust headers (a dull satin finish with a gold tint) and the exhaust muffler boxes (a matte textured khaki-grey finish).

I commonly hear prospective buyers (and owners without it) talk down cars whose carbon resin has discolored, be it in the air intakes, wheel arches, dash or even exposed portions of the monocoque, most of which is illustrated in the photo you shared.

Is this something that can be remedied with the aforementioned "refurbishment"?

Admittedly, it certainly seems unattractive, relative to the more conventional, darker gloss... To put it another way - I don't see it on Karim's F50s ;)

Karin’s F50 is exceptional.. not sure another exists like this.. most others that I have placed for friends.. have had some kind of refurbishment.. that is why they sell for less money .. if you require the best original cars , buy them as they are few and far between.,

There is no doubt that his car(s) is (are) exceptional... that wasn't the point of my post.

I haven't seen them all, but probably enough to guess that there's a rather meaty part of a bell curve of cars that may have various minor issues, but the carbon resin remains true to the original tint, as it does on Karim's car(s). The bronze-tinted carbon illustrated in the photo posted by Joe feels like a relative outlier, and one that - in my experience - many owners and aspiring owners alike feel is an instant disqualifier.

My question was, is there a fix for this? Has Karim done this, where others haven't bothered, beit for lack of ability (DK! DK! DK!) or financial willingness?
