would only make the top permanent, i dont like them with the top off, but i cant say that Enzo would of not signed off on it due to it not being twin turbo.
I know all that already that's not me beef. As a Ferrari fan I would just like to know why they didn't add turbo's seeing that the last two cars did.
We've seen white, silver, yellow, black and red (corsa and barchetta) F50s. As for blue, we've all seen the magnificent Azzurro California F50 (when it was that colour for a time). But here's one from way back - still curious about this and wondering if anyone knows more or has more pics. Blue F50 in Europe (Pozzi? NART? TdF? Swaters?). Image Unavailable, Please Login
Does that mean that Enzo wouldn't have "signed off" on the Enzo either--or for that matter, 599 GTO or FXX/599XX?
Some interesting reading about the F50 who took part in the Gumball 2002... http://www.m5board.com/vbulletin/gumball-3000-forum/17398-gumball-intercept-chasing-f50-getting-busted-4.html

Now the cars you named are just in a different league I know he would have signed off all those car with no problem. But I just always wondered why the F50 was not TT that's all. And I love the Enzo
The F50 had to be naturally aspirated, because the Tipo F130 V12 it uses is basically a detuned version of the F130A that Ferrari were using that year in their Formula 1 cars, just made road-legal and more user-friendly on the street. And the F130 series, as with most proper V12s, was designed to perform best as an NA engine. To turbocharge it would probably have ruined and corrupted its' instant, lag-free no questions asked throttle response that it is so well-known for.
I probably shouldnt feed trolls but this who post is ridiculous, the F50 is based on a 1990 F1 car and seeing as that didnt have turbos neither did the F50. It should also be noted that by an large NA engines have superior throttle response.
Because Turbos were the rage when the GTO and F40 came out. Even F1 had turbos in the 80's. The goal of the F50 was to be as close to an F1 car for the road. F1's in the early 90's were NA V12 hence the NA V12 Engine in the F50.
Very true observation, also in the case of Enzo the technology used was carried forward on more "volume" models.
Lucky man, I'be only been fortunate to see one- gasp for it twas in a museum! Alas where are these rare hypercars in Australia?!
It is true that the V12 in the F50 is a detuned F1 engine, but the F130A IS the F50 engine. The 65 degree V12s used for F1 back in these days were the Tipos 035/5 (1989) to 043 or F4-A94 from 1994. I think it's hard to tell what exact engine was the base for the F130A since all these F1 engines are very closely related. Natan
I saw them in Maranello, for The 60th anniversary In Australia, I don't Know, unfortunately underground The Water maybe...
Joe, this is the only other picture I have seen of that particular F50. The car appears to have been pictured in a Swiss Ferrari dealership on both occasions. I think the color is Tour de France Blu, but I can't be sure. Image Unavailable, Please Login
