Watching this video makes me cringe when thinking of the damage these cars endured from the gravel/stone roads, etc.: http://www.turbo.pt/um-encontro-2-ferrari-f50-video/
Even those were conversions. There's no RHD F50 assembled directly by Ferrari for what I've been able to found. Some conversions were to be done at Pininfarina but many of them were discarded. The sultan requested many more cars than what he eventually acquired.
Correct, a post-production conversion by Pininfarina. Pininfarina converted many cars for the Sultan.
Image Unavailable, Please Login I noticed this F50 currently offered by William Loughran in the UK has darkened headlight surrounds. Is this an aftermarket modification, a factory option, or possibly something standard on certain color choices? The listing specifically states that nothing has been altered on the car. I thought every F50 that left the factory had body color headlight surrounds. http://www.williamloughran.co.uk/usedcar/FERRARI/F50/FERRARI-Used-Cars/-Argento-Silver-Black-and-Red/24550528
I wish I could, it's impossible to say (without having all of the factory's records) if they didn't do this to some cars, but I know Bill Loughran gets some very correct Ferraris.
Same car?! the headlight buckets look darker than bodycolour on this one as well, but it could be a trick of the light in both sets of photos, reflecting off the covers. From memory there were/are two the same colour in the UK at the time of the accident. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Stumbled across this when looking for those silver F50 pics, not seen this one before? edit, actually looking more closely at the screen/roof and mirrors its probably a replica?, if that is the case then can the mods delete the post. Well copied in places though looking at some of the other pics of the same car. Image Unavailable, Please Login
Image Unavailable, Please Login I thought the same thing. I found this article with additional photos of the car which seem to clearly confirm that the headlight surrounds are in-fact darkened. Maybe Marcel knows if this was a factory option or if this was done afterwards by a previous owner. https://www.opumo.com/magazine/is-this-the-worlds-finest-ferrari-f50-argento/
It could be that silver/metallic paint would reflect/scatter the beam away from its forward direction hence going black like many other cars do with similar headlight set ups on certain shades like these produced for the f50.
