And is that a big tailpipe?
There's a bit of aventador in the front and f612 gto concept in the back, overall not revolutionary but very very neat so far
I have to say that the design in the back is not different from I expected, but I am really surprised at how flat the fenders are on top. I expected them to be more rounded and smooth, like on the Italia. I guess they have to be flat to integrate the intakes on their tops into the design. Also I saw a picture of the McLaren in a magazine with its door open, where the side intakes' cross section was visible and it is clearly seen that there are two separate ones on each side. An upper and lower ones. The upper intake gets air from the top of the door and the lower from its side. This is exactly what I was talking about some time ago about the F70. It looked like the radiators on the side were mounted rather high, as if they needed space below them. Having seen the McLaren intakes, now I am pretty certain the "new Enzo" will have similar thing going on. This may answer the questions about finding downforce if the lower intakes are all for active aero.
I think they are literally going to have to sit a teenage elephant on the roof in order to compete. >8^) ER
That lower intake that runs through P1's door is not fed from the side of the door. Those lower channels run the length of the door and the air comes from in front of them. Pic for reference >8^) ER
I don't think it will share the "evil eye" type of headlights similar to the FF or 458. Instead, I think the headlight casing will be rounded with an air scoop or intake morphed into the design as shown below... -Gil Image Unavailable, Please Login
While the early concept model I saw did not yet have headlamps, it also lacked a vent in that location which probably would have been there as it appeared to be the type of model that would end up in a wind tunnel. Additionally, I think the mules would also be showing a vent there because it would obviously have a purpose and so it would need to be present for testing. >8^) ER
Ahh, yes and no. The channels that are visible in the doors, come from the front, around the windshield and into the doors from the openings on their tops, which is visible on many pictures. Right below those opening in the quarter panels behind the doors are a second set of intakes that are smaller and more complex in shape, which feed from the sides from the gash under the channels in the doors. They look too big to be for brake cooling and too small for radiators. I did not get the magazine, just looked through it in the store. I did not even remember which one it was, but it had a picture of the car from away, front 3/4 view with the door open where you could clearly see what the door jamb looked like and the shape and size of the openings in it. I think the photo was taken during the set up of the McLaren display in Paris, before the Salon opened. So looking at the tub that Ferrari showed and how it curves in behind the doors and then looking at the engine bay pictures, you can clearly see that the side mounted radiators are actually considerably higher than that curve-in on the sides. So I am just guessing that this space is left for some sort of downforce generating "tunnels" or something of that sort.
Agree, f1 style. I see a recurring big thick V shape front and back around cabin, no air bridges, mainly underbody active fans aer. and a small possibility of a wing at the back above the cut, although not present on mule
What could they possibly need an intake in there for? If there is any "holes" in that area, they would most likely be exit vents (like on the Italia) not intakes.
this was in my facebook ferrari page https://fbcdn-sphotos-d-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-snc6/184504_470952632948361_1951507224_n.jpg
I didn't think you were talking about the vents in the side of the body since that isn't part of the door. Yes - air does enter the car there as well. There are likely other things that need cooling back there besides brakes and radiators. I think I saw a photo like that as well but I'm drawing a blank on where at the moment. If you can recall what magazine it was that might help. --- EDIT: Yay, Mark saves the day. Now enough talk about non-F70 items in this thread before the masses get their torches and pitchforks again. >8^) ER
