I'm guessing you've seen then? Is the order that you've listed the three the order you believe they are in in terms of lap times???
Jim has driven the P1, perhaps you should look at the 'VS' thread, you could read a lot of his thoughts on all three.
Can't wait for the car to be revealed. Busy times ahead with the unveiling of the F1 single seater also. Gr. Martin
I've sat in P1 but not driven one yet. I did talk to their engineers and get a very in depth tour and believe that it will lap the Ring close to our 6:51 about 6:55. The 918 has done a 7:14 at the Ring from a standing start so I see a 7:11 there. The F70 I see at about 7:10 at the Ring. On other tracks I still see the P1 being the fastest by a good margin. On the road I think all of them will be fast enough for most FCHATTERS...
Some says...it looks better camouflaged. I say it's still not camouflaged enough as I can still see it. New pics of the McLaren P1 - BBC Top Gear
Those Cx numbers are pretty impressive with 600kg of downforce. It's VMAX may be near the F1's. F70's rear very P 4/5 which looks good. Side nice. Front so, so. I don't see it as a 250 LM.
Whilst it may be functional, both aerodynamically and ergonomically, the proportions look all over the place to Me, especially in that front 3/4 shot. The cabin/roof-line height looks far too high compared to the waist-line, and in the 3rd picture, the tail section looks too squashed. It may be blindingly fast, but for My personal taste, it's not pleasing on the eye. (And yes, I know nobody cares what I think, but I feel better for getting it off My chest! )
i agree. from certain angles it doesn't look very 'flowing'. the canopy a bit off, size wise..i assume to maintain the desired interior room. but overall, in motion it looks pretty good...to me, much better than 12C. yes, this car will be very fast...lets just hope it doesn't have the same mega issue the 12C had at launch: a ho-hum driving experience despite high tech this, high tech that and speed up the wazzoo.
That is really a great achievement - making their flagship look better than a car that Ferrari made 18 years ago.
600lbs less weight and 150-200 more hp but only one second faster around the ring? What am I missing, Jim?
Actually I think the F50 is the prettiest of all of the 'super Ferraris' and the F50GT1 is my favorite 'modern' Ferrari. Its all subjective, that's the great thing about design. Back on topic the 'Cavallino Club' has now sent out 'all' of it's invitations. The Cavllino Club was the name given to the pre- invites that were given to 'pre-pre approved' buyers. I say 'all' of the invites were sent out as I'm certain more buyers will be approved late, but 'officially' the car is sold out.
Can't argue with this comment! Just picked a Ferrari I thought was ugly. Anyway I will agree that the F50GT1 (tool-fan's fav) is considerably less Ronald McDonald looking. Pete
First off, I don't believe there are many people that would find the P1 better looking than the Enzo. Second, the Enzo is still 10 years old and their current prices preowned being as much as the P1 brand new must count for something. Third, for me personally the F50 is actually better looking than the Enzo to start with. Last but not least, this thread is about the F70, which is the one P1 should be compared with.
