Dear Rolando (Roeland Frère ?), I've only answered to your question "...for his modern design capabilities and of course for his availability to work immediately..." and didn't developp with other details (that didn't explain why Ferruccio made his choice on Franco), exception of the funny comment... I definitevily enjoy your articles with abundant details as I have the same approach to interview old period personnalities... About your video, regarding polemics about individuals, I don't expect Ferruccio to be another man than Ferruccio... an umbrella protects better from rain... or if you prefer you can still 'buzz/silent" the few bad words and leave the 99% video open to Public ??? Can you do it that way ?
This answer coming from Thread "1971 Miura SV at Auction", post #81 I'm more thinking about paralelism in our way to interview but not similarity... that's what make us all different and so enthousiasming to discuss together about our understanding of same historical facts !
I believe that the last Countach 12085, left the production line on July 4, 1990 so this was an informal farwell to the Countach during its jouney down the line.
Ah, right. Don't you just love all that modern equipment! It's great seeing old photos of the factory.
I always like this pic, thought article text is quite amateur, IMHO. Jarama in the background too. Peter Image Unavailable, Please Login
The blueish car directly behind the LP400 looks to me like the top half of an Urraco sitting on the bench. The triangular shaped engine vent is a giveaway. On the benches to the left I think I can see a Silhouette front wing and to the left again maybe a Silhouette rear side panel. Could this possibly be the development of Silhouette prototype body panels in progress?
Very observant ! Sorry, but I am a little Jarama biased ( apart from LP400 ), but I was curious about missing RHS door ? Peter
Same disease - I see Silhouettes everywhere! Do you know of any in Italy apart from the ex-Pasini car?
Thought I would dig up this nice thread; Diablo production photos Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login Image Unavailable, Please Login
How many pictures of Ferruccio with a Diablo are there? I didn't know of any, until I saw this one; perhaps the same car as in the museum? Image Unavailable, Please Login
I thought I would try a new thread idea out. I have been lucky enough to visit the factory once in 1993, but I find the history of the place fascinating. As such, I thought I would start a thread showing pictures of the factory throughout the years. If you want to contribute, your pictures of any visits to the factory would be most welcome. If you can include who took them and when, that would be even better, as it all helps place things into context. The first B&W images are from the material I was able to find at CAR magazine, as are the images of the Countach production line and the Silver Jalpa and the image of Valentino in the cafeteria. The images from 1993 are mine, while the Diablo assembly line and partially assembled cars are also from CAR. I hope you enjoy my idea. Regards, Paul What a great idea!!! This thread is going to be a must! Is it Marcello Gandini between the blue Diablo and the yellow Miura? Image Unavailable, Please Login
no, i think is not that car i think this pic may be from the time when Balboni visited Ferruccio to show him the new car
If nothing else, this demonstrates that cars were not consigned on the day that they were produced nor in the order they were produced!
