Since he is not finishing his contract and such a whiny boy.
Lets talk about he sucks. All the excuses for this guy.

He won 2 WDC with Flavio okay we give him credit.
Goes to mclaren and leaves after 1 year. Because he was crying over hamilton who is the better driver.
Is in the complot of crash gate @ singapore to win.
Is to stupid to pass petrov in abu dabi.
Loses a > 100 points advantage in 2012 to vettel.

Want to manage evrything @ ferrari result it's a huge mess and even the big boss LdM is forced out.

Since you all think that kimi and massa suck maybe in tacecraft they are less then alonso but for personality FERNANDO sucks

I'm not a big vettel fan but he will do a better job @ ferrari then Fernando

I don't like the guy, in fact I think he's a terrible person, but the guy can drive. He really has been outperforming the car for years. He gets credit for that from me.

I'm still glad he's leaving though.

I dont think he sucks. I dont think he is as clever as he feels he is. Of all the top drivers in F1 his status is taking a big hit since the Vettel announcement. He is a top driver at the top of his career. He is no longer ascending. I think a slow but measurable decline is now beginning.

Given the movement to literally hire teenagers, on age alone FA is old. Its sad but much of his current issue with no real team yet is of his own doing. Even if he goes to Mclaren he is not as influential as he was.

He is now enduring what began for MS late at Ferrari. F1 actually seems to be rushing the 'end phase' of drivers careers now. At least on the surface it appears so to me.
Same for JB its a feeling they know F1 is now beginning to look past them.

I don't even think the Hamilton fans agree with that.

Alonso may be a d*ck, but he is the best driver on the grid.

I actually wonder if he's the best in getting the most out of the car on track, but perhaps isn't so good in getting feedback to the engineers for car development.

    All the best,
    Andrew.

Definitely not!..... There'd be very few left it were..... ;)

I think you may well be right. Seems he can drive the wheels of pretty much anything, which while impressive in & of itself, may actually hamper development.

While telemetry tells much, it's still the mark one backside that's the ultimate arbiter. But if his isn't as 'sensitive' as others, and/or he simply drives around problems, I could see that being an issue for development at least.

As for it being a 'stupid thread', I beg to differ; The OP presented why he believed it, and while I too disagree with his synopsis, it's not as silly as some that appear here. Just because the majority disagree doesn't make it 'stupid'.....

    Cheers,
    Ian

He sucks really bad, his cheating cost Massa a championship, everytime there is something dirty (like crashgate, spygate, blackmailing the team) he's deep in there...he's a badmouth, a liar, and i simply can't stand the guy....one of the most overrated drivers i ever saw. Got his first title because Mclaren couldn't build a car that stand together during the course of one race!!! "005 Kimi blew everyone else, he was by far the best driver...2006 Shumy made too many mistake, i guess the confusion about his retirement didn't help.

Ferrari would have finished behind Force India and probably Lotus and Sauber too if it wasn't because of Fred. He's cunning. No doubt about that. And he's not innocent either.

Fernando is a good driver. The team is a mess.

And Luca getting forced out had nothing to do with the f1 team.

Alonso IMO fantastic driver, squeezing the most out of a car seemingly beyond it's capabilities, with apparently good feedback skills, and knowing who is, and what his closest rival's are up to.

Down side, he likes ALL the attention focused on him only, and this could come across as a very self centered person, sly maybe, but to achieve his goal, or team goal this cannot really be considered a bad thing.

All in my humble opinion of course :)

I started this thread because I'm was very disappointed that it's okay to start a Massa sucks thread and a Kimi sucks thread.

but WOW Alonso is Holly on this forum and I don't agree with that.
remember it was Kimi that gave ferrari's last WDC. not the mighty alonso.
Alonso himself is his biggest enemy. he may be a superb driver but it didn't work out @ ferrari and it's not 100% the team's fault.

I'm very very glad he'll be leaving ferrari.

Alonso has good race craft, and is very good at intimidation making other drivers feel if they don't yeild, Alonso will put them out.

However, Ferrari has run innane pit strategy's on their #2 driver ever since Alonso has joined. Whether it is Alonso polarizing things, or Ferrari, will not be clear without Alonso there. I do not think Alonso is a team guy, unless the team is all about Alonso. Ferrari needs two drivers that work together on development and race finishes right now, not one "hero".

It was my hope, Alonso would exit, and Kvat would take the seat, but Red Bull, and Kvat, are now cemented for next year.

    Agree with this.

How some people love him as much as they do baffles me given his prime history
