I've dealt with all three and in fact bought my 575 through CTS. Mate, if you think a 456M manual is special, then you're kidding yourself. It's a modern 4 seater Ferrari and not collectible, price goes up and down based on what is happening with the market in general. A 575M is affected in the same way. I would never sell through a broker, I have proven (to myself anyway :) ) I can get as good if not a better sale price. This is based on selling 3 classic Ferraris and 1 classic Porsche and sounding out brokers but selling all 4 myself. WTF would I want to share the profit? :)

But should have Dino centres on the wheels and houndstooth material in the boot.

I think the driver's floor mat is badly worn but other than that looks good as you say.

Probably a couple of hundred bucks to fix the superficial irregularities :)

Half you your luck, I've had the opposite experience with the cars I have sold in the last three years as I came out of better , yes the brokers made their profit but I got far more than I would have done dealing with tyre kickers. All the cars had significant providence with one returning to the UK, one sold with only one phone call and two were traded to get into the 456. And part of that was to stay in the market.
    Let's just agree to disagree.

Interesting. I sold 3 via carsales, no tyrekickers, in fact the only annoying calls I had were from brokers telling me I was dreaming, had buyers but wanted me to drop the price etc. in the end the first person that saw each of those cars bought it and with little haggling. The 4th I sold by making direct contact with someone overseas via Fchat. Sold via a couple of emails and was the highest price paid for that model at the time. I made sure I let a certain broker know that I got $100k more than what his "buyers" were willing to pay. Stupid parasitic ****. I personally also would prefer to buy direct from an owner than deal with a broker but that's just me :)

I recently acquired a highly significant Porsche via a broker known around the traps as 'PP'. He wants an extra $20k before he'll hand over the books, tools and tyre sealant.

Would the owner have paid paid for $4000. Dollars worth the parts for the repair of a significant fault, good old drive way warranty, me thinks not. You win some you loose some, let's move on.

Of course not, would not expect that either, I buy stuff with my eyes wide open. Every OHOS will need money thrown at it. Imagine the profit margin of the dealer/broker if he's happy to part with $4k

the 4 was after they spent 5 on the PPI items and a 10 off the asking price you may be correct it was a big margin, however after they spent that much margin was I recon was more than halved, I was happy and they were happy and the world moves on.
An yes they need money spent but what is left to do I can do easily my self and not pay some one to do.

And you got a great car out of it, my point is I don't like dealing with middlemen :)

Normally neither do I and like you my best buys have been privately up to this car.
The 550 and 575 boat had well and truly sailed and I didn't want to miss out compounded by the market at that time was moving quickly I felt the 456 was too good an opportunity to miss and having two sell two cars quickly to get the funds, which could all be all done in the same transaction was rather painless. . Yes the middle man made some money but the best bit is I'm happy isn't that also important. Thanks for the fun debate. 👍🏻

I bought mine because PP told me it was a great car.

As usual, he was 100% correct :)
