Yes lived there for 7 years...With duties they normally base it on price paid unless they think you are pulling the piss.....The key is to get a good clearing agent and there are a few that used to be high up in customs so they know how the system works......

Get bidding folks Image Unavailable, Please Login yep it’s the same car (Carsales) Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Owner obviously keen to sell. Currently less than half the ask on Carsales. Will be interested to see how it goes, but it would seem that the market is more concerned about converted cars than whether it’s an import or what gearbox it has.
Yep it’s the same with older Porsche’s,if it’s a converted 930 it’s indefinitely for sale and $100k cheaper than an original. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
But if he’s not outwardly advertising it as a crossover car someone’s going to get very irate when they discover it was a left hooker. Sent from my iPhone using FerrariChat.com mobile app
+ 308 but you have to remember,on here there are folk who..A/don't do track days,B/buy and flick within a couple of years and C/ haven't done a GG for 3 years....
Agreed but you’d have to be pretty stupid to be bidding, say, $100k on something without doing any research. Having said that. I don’t know why the seller doesn’t just be open and honest about it. It does leave them open to an accusation of a lack of transparency. Saying that it’s a “European import” is deliberately obtuse in my view. For mine, I’d never buy a converted car. No matter how well it was done.
If it looks like it smells like it and feels like it then it probably is IT. I'd be keeping right away from this one. Plus it may not be so cheap as it hasnt reached reserve yet!?. Sent from my SM-N915G using FerrariChat.com mobile app
Given that it’s on car sales for $179500 the reserve is probably $140-150k. In a way I sympathise with the seller but if it gets up to, say, $100-120k it might be a decent result for both buyer and seller. But again, I think the whole conversion thing is a bad idea. Just leave the car as it left the factory.
I wasn’t sure at first, but I love it. Has cues from the J50, which is the best looking Ferrari since the 355. If the rumours are true, I like the fact that Ferrari appear to be making an effort to not sell it to known “flippers”. These people really pee me off. That they expect to be able to immediately order any limited edition car (because they bought and flipped the last one) expecting to drive it for a year then flog it off for a profit just seems wrong to me. Of course, it’s probably much like scalpers and concerts tickets etc. Almost impossible to really police. If it was up to me, there’d be something in the contract about selling it before a certain amount of time means they don’t get to buy the next limited edition or similar.
