Plus the couple of GT4's. This thing Mark has is a non runner Pom delivered ..............he wants one thirds to mid hundreds for........ It's a bit of a TLDR......I think he's gunna be putting candles on it for it's birthday https://www.oldtimeraustralia.com/wp_car_dealer/1976-ferrari-308-gt4/ Plus this Pommy one. https://www.carsales.com.au/cars/details/1976-ferrari-dino-gt4-manual/SSE-AD-6243983/?Cr=2
The Pommy one is actually ex Japan, been in Oz for decades and was first advertised in the last issue of HorsePower. At 100k it's the cheapest RHD carby Ferrari currently for sale. The car Mark has is very original and would be a good buy for someone that could do the recomissioning work themselves. The colour is attractive, interior is great and it has a sunroof. From a DIY perspective one could do the belts, flush the fuel system, replace all hoses, rebuild the calipers, change the fluids and replace the suspension bushes for $10K or less in parts and consumables -a nice easy project.
He's obviously got the **its with folk. The original advert had a lot more info,I'm sure.hence my thinking it was Pom. Marks car appears to have no original books or tools (not mentioned) and will owe the purchaser about $150K when finished going by the dosh he wants. Compare that with your silver/grey example just sold for $165K.........................
The one for a 100 K looks alright if it's a good car....I'm sure if you went there with 90 K cash and weren't a wanker about things you would probably get it.......
When I sold the Crab (I'd better change my aviator BTW) I think I posted it @ 75K with a bottom line of 60,I received 30% better than 60. so I was happy.
Must admit the Red one looks really tempting.....I would really like to add a 308GT4 ......They are supposed to handle much better than the 308 because of the slightly longer wheel base....But I'm about to start building a 600sqm shed so I'm desperately trying to stay focused.....
In what respect Jon?.....I was just going on what I had seen from people posting having owned both.....I've yet to drive one.....
The silver / blue car in Vic sold for a little less than 165K, and yes, a complete, running car with everyting, drive it away and enjoy. A much better proposition.
I never liked them when they were new, but they really grew on me and if someone hadn't run into mine I'd still be very happy with owning it.
I've owned GTSQV and the GT4 , and both are great on the open highway and the track but the GT4 is not as good as the QV. The shorter wheelbase of the QV makes them turn a little better than the longer wheel base of the GT4 on the track I still miss my GT4, a brilliant car for what it was ..... I don't miss the QV interestingly enough, a great car but the sound was less than inspiring
I loved my 308 but couldn't justify having 2x '70's Ferrari's plus they kept whacking the bloody bitumen on the trips with the GG mob......didn't matter what Marc did to the 308 it kept smackin' the 'glass undertray. The Datto doesn't do any of that crap on the same roads at the same (or quicker) speeds
Just listed ! Never knew Borranis were an option https://classicthrottleshop.com/1972-ferrari-dino-246-gt-rosso-bordeaux/
Geez there are some nice cars starting to come out of the woodwork now.....Sign of the times?.....In my opinion the Borranis do no justice to that car...They look far better on the older V12s.....
I just bought an exhaust off Rizzo308 ( Phil ) for my car....It's transformed the noise from a Wet Fart to a nice growl.....
Agree - Not sure if I've been conditioned but agree Borranis in my opnion look odd - Much prefer the chairs / flares wheels Nice 246 none the less!!!!!!!!
