Be really interesting! Far from concours but on the other hand highly original ! I've always regarded them as the ecomomic barometer cars where they sit with pricing Don't want to ask in case I'm tempted
950 and here's why. It's at CTS who aren't afraid of backwards coming forwards. Mechanical freshen. Aussie. Full books? Totally original, ultra low milage. If there's nil rust and just the grubby nose/front paint thing (the panel fit appears good) you'd (I'd) leave it alone and the interior presents as it does in the pics. Original rims come with it so you've $10K in yer back pocket with the Borrani's You'd drive this as it is and enjoy the pants off it whilst insuring it for a Mill! How many can you find as original.... You can buy as many as you want that have been **cked with,(a lot badly),with no soul,I bet this thing has bucket loads in spades.
I think that a bit High Simon...There was the long term ownership 246 posted on here in the U.K. With 3 owners full history , very original and I think that was around 200 K in pounds....Also if you look at the latest Sales results in the U.K. The prices are really coming off. One of my must have cars , a concours 1958 AC Acceca Bristol just sold for 100 K in pounds. That would have achieved double that a couple of years ago...
Simon Agree with everything but the price- I too love the originality Check the car below , interior looks amazing https://online.handh.co.uk/m/lot-details/index/catalog/118/lot/45256/?url=/m/view-auctions/catalog/id/118/?page=1
Every other 246 on C/S is a UK car, fair enuff some have been here for a looooong time but that could be the most defining feature for some folk. I'm not saying CTS will GET it,but for an original unmolested Aussie GT I think they'll start it high.
Simon, that car is a long way from totally original. I can see many things wrong. No tools either. It will also have sodium valves, rust in the chassis tubes, coolant tubes, exhaust, etc, etc. It's a restoration project and these days that's a minimum $250K exercise for a 246. $600K would pull the car up at an auction, so it's worth at best $400 as it stands. Look at the 3/4 photos, the panels are waving at you. And as for the gold plated badges, that says all the wrong things about the previous owners.
So you know this car? What about the mechanical, that would have sorted the valves I'd have thought. You know about the tools? The only bit of wave I see is the RHS sill,I see tooo much reflection which doesn't help. I see good panel fit about everywhere. I see an Ansa exhaust tip. Didn't clock the goldy bits....
Gold plated badges = my take is actually that the are the original badges that have been poished enough to wear the chrome off and reveal the brass underneath
