Photos don’t do these designs any justice, I think Standing beside one of these cars would impress most car/ non car people. And that tobacco interior is just gorgeous
Too much of a mishmash for me - I quite like the retro body styling but it just looks ridiculous with those wheels. Also not sure how the double bubble at that scale would work in real life.
Hi All, Out of interest what's the market like for a as new UK RHD 348 tb Chiaro Blue / Cream with only 7.5k miles in Australia? View attachment 223463
That would be a very hard sell here. Lovely colour combination IMO but most 348 buyers want a red car that's a local delivery with maintenance records from new. Imports have a (mainly) justifiably bad reputation here unless it's a mega car or never sold here new, 250 SWB, 328 GTB for example. I think you'd get more for it sending it back home. Interestingly, there's a blu chairo / crema Australian TB I used to see in Melbourne a fair bit but haven't seen it for ages.
Unless they edit out the 8 year gap in service history it's not likely to be going anywhere soon... At least they seem to be getting an understanding of where the price should be headed! A shame really, it's a nice colour combo.
Yeah that’s total BS...I’m doing a 355 that has total Dealership history with receipts. The workmanship is absolute rubbish and it’s going to cost me a small fortune to get it right...It’s not the gap in service history that’s the worry... it’s who has been looking after the car long term..Thank god there’s the Pierres and Carl’s in the world that stand by what they do...
True, mind you, I personally have read too many horror stories to even contemplate buying a 355, unless I have an enormous reservoir of cash for maintenance, given I’d drive it every day
It’s easy to own one Adrian...Greg sends a cheque in the mail every Friday...As a Proper enthusiast would...
As always, don't believe everything you read on the internet. But yes, you need a reserve of money for maintenance. And no, you wouldn't drive it every day.
They aren't horror stories but you do need to keep on top of the maintenance and servicing. My last service was circa $8k but that was because I damaged some parts at Wakefield which needed replacing . I drive mine a LOT as you know and I never think it is going to let me down and in 7 years the car has only stopped on me once , and that was on the way home after buying it from PP ... car flooded itself with my help in not knowing how to start the car from cold (all good now since Sal worked on it but even he doesn't know what he did, but it now starts by just leaning in and turning the key!!) I love the looks , the performance on the track and the good feeling it gives me just starting it up
I drive mine a couple of times a week ..... but not every day I love the sound of it just idling away scaring the neighbours
I know you do drive yours a lot. But I reckon no matter how much you love it, a 355 is not really a daily driver. I remember someone (I think it was Greg) said that when he stored his Ferrari away from home he hardly ever drove it. I can confirm that is also true for me. I think I've only driven mine three times in the last couple of months since it's been stored. Hopefully that will change when the weather gets better.
I saw your car at Pierre’s Gary, there’s something about them I’ll give you that but I’m not yet in the position to comfortably enjoy a 355 and that’s the crooks of it, I would drive it on a weekly basis as I have an addictive personality and if I enjoy something I’ll use it a lot
That's a decent amount - especially this year. I've probably driven mine 15 times - just not much since storing it. I have to be honest and say (as sad as it is) I've also enjoyed getting to know the new car so there have been a few times I've felt like going for a drive and didn't take the 355... I expect as soon as the weather improves that will change and I'll go back to driving it once or twice a week.
